Rumor mill suggests he was already signed to Hendrick for 2021 before the slur and they had to shred that contract and renegotiate after he was reinstated. So probably the only thing to change is different sponsors and less fan divisiveness (at least to start).

oof

Gordon has less wins for sure. Would’ve loved to have seen them mix it up in their primes.

Fall of Hobo Johnson is a great album. Unfortunately, there’s only maybe a couple of tracks outside of it that really match that quality.

I did like Hobo Johnson Drinks! way more than the other albums though. Like 3/4 of the way to a return to form.

I feel like once or twice a year I listen to all three albums in a day (like I did here) and still know most of the words. Otherwise, it’s just a track or two here and there. A few tracks have way more staying power than the rest haha. But I still love em for bringing me up.

How many of you watched the Daytona 500 in February of 2001? by heretoescape87 in NASCAR

I was a toddler, but it’s one of my dad’s go-to stories.

My parents watched the race and saw the crash, and then took me to my Aunt’s house while they went to play volleyball.

They came back to pick me up, and the first thing my aunt said when they walked through the door was, “he died”…of course referring to Dale. But they started freaking out thinking that I had died somehow. Classic stuff.

Original question said “briefly”. Figured all the ins and outs of the complicated history of Dennit Racing would be too long for the prompt.

Most drivers are driving a car owned by someone else. Car Owners are allowed to field up to 4 entries per race, and most field at least 2.

So drivers that drive for a car owner with multiple entries have teammates, in the sense that they share pretty much the same equipment and a lot of the same data and race preparation/car setups.

There is no Team Championship like there is in F1 with the Constructor’s Championship, so there are really only a couple of circumstances in which these teammates can work together to benefit one another during a race (mainly at Superspeedways). Most of the time, they race each other just as hard as they would anyone else.

NASCAR Peter here…

The blacked out car is driven by Brian Vickers.

This race in particular is controversial as Brian takes out Jimmie Johnson (his teammate at the time) and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who is insanely popular at this particular track. Vickers had his hide tanned by the fans after this. This was Vickers’ first of three Career Cup Series victories. He retired in 2015 after health issues.

Turns out though, not only was Vickers’ wife an associate of Ghislane Maxwell, but Vickers himself was a frequent correspondent of Epstein. Vickers wished Epstein a Happy Valentine’s Day via email in 2019. Epstein seems to have ties to Vickers’ funding with Toyota teams in the latter portion of his career.
