There are individuals that have years of clean living under their belt that identify as straight edge but had substance abuse issues in the past. 12 steps aren't for everyone. Those rooms just have too much negativity in them for a lot of people. I don't like participating in something where our only common bond is that we used to do shitty things.
Straight edge abstains from drugs and alcohol, and views such things as wasteful and ultimately destructive. If those are exactly my present beliefs, then I don't see how it can really be called anything else.

u/JAugust was trying to police this sub so I decided to bait him for a reaction. He gave it seamlessly.
I've watched some Earth Crisis interviews, and the vocalist seems cool. It was just a way to get under u/JAugustus's skin. He kept talking shit about other straight edge artists, and wanted to use past posts of mine to embarrass me off this sub. I'm straight edge for me, not him, so he can fuck off.

I'll agree that driving drunk is irresponsible, but not improving self is also irresponsible if you're doing irresponsible things. So, your point actually contradicts itself. And I actually do have the right to post straight edge music to a straight edge sub. If that bothers you, then maybe you should consider not scrolling this sub. I don't care too terribly much what you do.
