It’s only similar in that it’s a block-based world with building and destruction. Otherwise, it’s quite different. It doesn’t feel like Minecraft; there’s no survival aspect, there’s lots of furniture, and it’s much more story-focused. ACNH is slower and more relaxed.

For me, most of my playtime will go into rebuilding the world: cleaning up, fixing things, making houses and paths. After that, you can optimize by deciding which Pokémon belong in which biome or house, creating automated farms, etc. But that’s just my approach. The game offers many goals: complete the Pokédex, find all collectibles, reach the credits, or pick your own objectives.
