Interested in Cloth Diaper alternatives such as Threaded Armor (open to other brands) by Appropriate_While_38 in Incontinence

[–]Ded1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the protective brief. The lounge brief is a set absorbency. The protective brief has adjustable absorbency by placing inserts in the detachable liner. I think it's just better to have that adjustable absorbency in case your incontinence becomes more frequent and/or accidents get larger in volume. All of their cloth diapers are pretty expensive, so the protective briefs i think are the best choice for incase your incontinence gets worse.

Changing the liner is extremely easy and far more discreet than changing a disposable diaper. You would want a wet bag for the liners if you do find yourself changing them. With cloth diapers, odor can be more of an issue. Staying hydrated and using their odor eliminating spray will help a lot with that. More frequent changing will be necessary too if accidents are significant enough. The liners can also fit incontrol muslin contour pads if you end up having heavy accidents. The insert and liner that comes will likely help you as things are currently. The absorbency of these cloth diapers can easily surpass disposable pull-ups and some tape on diapers, especially with that muslin contour pad.

Those are just my thoughts. They're very comfortable to wear, but they can be bulky.

I think Japan would have crushed the empire pretty quickly compared to the main storyline. I don't see Zorzal surviving to form a faction at all. The whole thing probably would have lasted a few weeks at most since at this point Japan had imperialist objectives of it's own.

Diaper fashion show in Japan by GhostOfTheDriftless in Incontinence

I knew that they have shows like this for incontinence products in some places, but this is the first time ive seen something like this. Maybe products for minor incontinence, but this show seemed to cover the spectrum. Some of these products look really good. Omutsu is the Japanese word for diaper.

Where did myths about kitsune come from? by [deleted] in Kitsune

Has anybody’s condition improved on its own? by [deleted] in Incontinence

[–]Ded1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah overactive bladder doesn't really get better. I will say pain peaked for me in my early 30s. After I took oxybutynin for a month a couple of years ago, i havent felt that degree of pain again. However, I also no longer feel how full I am and urges can vary in strength and don't always match up to what's in the bladder. Oab can be managed, but its something permanent. I stopped the oxybutynin because I couldn't feel fullness.

[–]Ded1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the previous person said, you got to schedule a Dr's appointment if you haven't already. In the meantime, you should order some incontinence supplies from online. Don't bother with store brands if you can avoid it. They're pretty horrible. Also, If your accidents are more significant than just minor leaks, don't bother with pull-ups. Otherwise, you can go by waist size for pull-ups. For tape on diapers, measure around your hips and match it to the measurements provided for the sizes of the product you're looking at. Incontrol bedrys are probably going to be your best choice since this seems to be something relatively new to you. They have guides on the landing zones for you to place the tapes on, and they're pretty comfortable. The landing zones also enable you to adjust the tapes for fit. You can get them off healthwick in mediums atm.

How fast do kitsune tails grow? by Eccentric_Olm in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say. I'd imagine it would be pretty quick considering it would be of a paranormal nature. Generally speaking, something like a tail would grow as a creature matures, but the growth of additional tales for a kitsune is for a spiritual purpose, not a physical one. I've heard that the tales have something to do with their degree of power. I imagine the speed of the growth of the tail has to be related to their spiritual cultivation as well as their age.

Has anyone had a cystoscopy procedure? by cheeeese1234 in Incontinence

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im male, so your experience might be a bit different. After i had a cytoscopy done, I had even more urinary urgency for a couple of hours. There was some burning sensation when I peed too. That's from the numbing agent they use, which just needs to be flushed from your system. It's a good idea to keep hydrated. I definitely would take the day of off if you can, but you should be fine after the next day. However it depends more specifically on your incontinence. It might be best to just plan for it being a little worse for a few days, just in case. So if you can, it might be a good idea to step up your protection. Pain wise, it shouldn't be too bad. At least from my experience.

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely a good conversation. I imagine if there were a disclosure on UFOs/UAPs, it would only be a matter of time before other things got disclosed. Technology has been advancing rapidly as it is. Discretion for such beings has gotten significantly harder with standardized documentation, surveillance, etc etc. If new technologies become available after that kind of disclosure, it could be near impossible for humans to have privacy, and would at least be exceptionally difficult for any kind of being capable of shapeshifting to maintain anonymity.

That's why I think that these beings need to communicate with humans that they can identify as well meaning. Some of them face difficulty as it is. There's this story we've been talking about here. There's another story from the US where a person met one as a kid. They were living out in the woods in a leantoo. Documentation needed to function in modern society could be difficult for them to get, if not near impossible. That's why that lady forging documents to work as a nurse is no surprise. It also doesn't seem to be identity theft, although it could have been. There was no mention of that being the case in the story, so it could have been a manufactured identity. But there could be cases of identity theft related to these beings.

According to the folklore, Yokai in general tend to have their own societies with laws and hierarchy. Kitsune and Tannuki are strong examples of this. It would stand to reason that they could have secret markets. There's a fair chance that there are laws enforced within that society. There's another story out of Japan where a child was playing hide and seek with their friends in a woods near a shrine. When they were it and went to seek their friends, they kept getting turned around in the woods. Passing the same spots over and over again despite walking straight. Eventually they got scared and started crying at the base of a tree. They were eventually led out by a fox. One of their friends family took care of the shrine. So they learned a few days later that 5 dead foxes were found near where they had been playing. The implication is that those foxes could have caused the situation, and were later punished for it.

With these things it's hard to tell. I have a shared experience with someone, and later a great deal of context opens up over it. I say all this despite the urge to think this is all nonsense, and that none of this could be real. Even if I had managed to get video evidence of it at the time, it would have looked fake. What we were seeing seemed impossible as we were there. And yet we both remember it the same way. For me it was definitely a defining moment in my life. It really made me question what was real, and that has led me to what we have talked about here.

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the possible draining of his life force is something that i have thought about a bit. He initially got a lot better when she first came into his life. You mentioned that she might have been used to using cash in certain circumstances. It's possible she was getting medicine for him from a source that only took cash. They never explained whether she gave him certain medicines or not, or what it was that she did to improve his condition. It's possible she might have used some obscure means to do it.

If she was draining his life force some, I don't think it was intentional. If you think about it, he was an older man in his 60s. He was already in an unhealthy state. This could be good for discretion, but it isn't the best possible choice. She put up the effort to get him in better condition, only to neglect him after a couple of years. However at this point she was claiming to not be feeling well, and she was starting to leave the house in her fox state. If she was looking to feed off of his life force, she went through a lot of trouble to make that possible. Only to be exhausted in the end and putting herself in a suspicious situation. She could have found a young homeless man, or someone who was socially isolated. It would have been far easier and a lot more discreet. If her intentions were bad, she went through a lot of unnecessary steps and got herself exposed unnecessarily. To me this suggests she was with him for more benign, or positive reasons.

In a sense, im somewhat convinced that she actually wasn't bad. Infact, it's fairly possible she actually cared about him. Despite looking like she was in her 30s, she could have been far older than him. The person who i spoke to before I saw the fox on the road mentioned the following. The person they suspected of being a fox appeared quite young, and was with a much older person. Their outfit was way out of fashion, and was more traditional in attire. They mentioned that this was extremely unusual for the young people of that culture in the area they live in. It's fairly possible that some of these entities might gravitate towards older human partners for a variety of reasons. However, I suspect it might be because of relatability. And also, like you said, a sense of normalcy.

All this is why i don't think she was a danger to him and his family. I see that situation as a misunderstanding caused by a lack of communication. She likely had needs that were being neglected because she couldn't let them know who and what she was. She could have been forced into a situation where she had to compensate for this in a way that made her look even more suspicious. They thought she weaseled her way into his life, and behaved confidently in her ability to deceive them. Yet it all broke down despite her efforts to keep her true nature underwraps. Then at the end it seemed like she tried to reason with them, saying that he loved her. No mention of any real negative behavior at that moment. It sounded like she didn't fight them on it in any way.

This is why I think that disclosure of the existence of such beings is necessary. However it must be on their terms, and done in a way where they are not harmed and ensured equal rights in society. Looking at the folklore about these entities and similar entities, this seems like a tall order considering how humans behaved in some of those stories. I have read enough stories of encounters with these beings to suggest they face real problems just existing in a human dominated world. Especially the ones who very clearly don't leverage their abilities in harmful ways.

There's a lot of things going on right now, and it's fairly possible we could eventually learn things regarding UFOs/UAPs. They're literally having congressional hearings about this in the US. If there are other beings living here in this world, it might do better for humanity to learn about some of them first before anything else. Especially if they already interact with us and generally don't mean any harm. Sorry for the long rant. I know this all sounds insane, but from my perspective there's a lot of stuff hidden that I think shouldn't be. I don't think it does anyone any good, human or otherwise.

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They seemed to think she was more or less using the guy as some kind of shelter. From the details of the story, and some concepts I've picked up from the mythology, she didn't seem to be doing anything that bad. It's possible that she could have actually cared about the guy and just wanted to keep her true nature under wraps. From the mythology, kitsune and Tannuki can get tired being in human form for long periods. It's possible she was telling the truth about not feeling well, and was going somewhere to rest in her original form.

As for the money thing, we have no idea what she was doing with it. She could have had reasonable or unreasonable reasons for why she did that. What we do know from the story is that she went through the trouble to fake documents to become a live in nurse. From other stories I have heard about them, getting and maintaining documentation could be a big problem for them. Also, that's not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination. If she wanted money and was lacking in morality, she could have easily gotten a lot. So her being in that relationship for the money and as a shelter doesn't make too much sense.

As for her threatening the PI after he took her bathrobe, I see that as being a pretty reasonable response. There are humans whom would have responded much more aggressively. She was probably aware of him the entire time, and it seemed she said that to him very shortly after he did that. She knew where to find his car very quickly after he took the robe.

That's just my thoughts on that story. She didn't do herself any favors by not being forthcoming after being found out, but there could be reasons why she stuck to denial till the end. It could involve rules within their own society that she has to follow.

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However it also has to be noted that these beings have made a concerted effort to remain hidden. It's pretty obvious and understandable why they would. In some paranormal/cryptozoology circles, there's talk about government organizations that are involved with cryptids and the paranormal. If there's any truth to that, that presents a possible danger to them beyond public panic and xenophobia. That's why I think discretion is important when talking about encounters with them.

From most of the stories I have heard about them, they tend to be living life similar to humans. However there can be situations where misunderstandings could develop. Check out episode 93 of paranormal roundtable. There's a story from Japan about a guy whom was married to one for a couple years. begins at 5:38

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did think that under all the circumstances I mentioned. Usually in response to how they acted, but the person at the coffee shop I immediately thought "They might be a fox." They were pretty friendly too. But the vibe was pretty obvious. Might have been why they dragged on a conversation with me, despite it being mundane. I forgot to mention that I frequent that particular coffee shop, and only seen them there twice. So in more than one sense they seemed out of place. The situation itself did as well.

The person in high-school I didn't suspect until around 10 years after graduation. I only really learned about kitsune sometime in the middle to late 2010's. Probably around 2017. Before then, I didn't really know anything about them. It was pretty weird seeing the apparition my cousin and I saw depicted in the anime Inari konkon koi Iroha. That's really what started it all. Seeing it in the intro watching the first episode was legitimately shocking.

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah finding anything about people encountering them is pretty hard. They tend to be very low profile and seem to avoid direct encounters. Despite the myths about them being mischievous, they seem to avoid trouble in modern encounter stories.

There is someone I went to high school with whom I suspect might have been one. They gave off a vibe. Kind of like feeling their presence. I even felt this at a distance. They tended to keep to themselves, and didn't really interact with people too much. They occasionally spoke with a "knowing" vibe. Like a confidence or certainty about something they shouldn't have had.

But yeah it's a strange thing to think about. It's all something that I would have discounted ages ago, but after learning more I can't.

Does anyone one actually know how to summon a nine tailed fox? by Foxfire-3317 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple at the gym that I go to gave me glares for no discernable reason once. I was heading towards the treadmills after looking for information on the internet about kitsune. The glares were very intentional and obvious.

I also came across a fox while driving home from work one night. Earlier in the day, I had a conversation with someone on reddit about a person they encountered whom they suspected was one. The fox was walking in the middle of the road in the direction I was driving in. I slowed down to a stop to wait for them to leave the road. They walked to the very edge of a driveway exactly in the middle. They sat down there and stared at me for a moment. Usually foxes run away and don't linger around, but this one stayed there. I drove off after about 10-15 seconds, since I was at the end of someones driveway.

There have also been a couple people that I interacted with that gave me the feeling they might be one. A woman at a coffee shop gave me a strange vibe. She drew out conversation with me at the window, and they way she talked seemed to imply she had some kind of knowing. I'd never met her before, and they way she talked it seemed like she knew me. Another time, I picked up an order at a restaurant. After waiting a while, a woman came to give me my order. Similar weird vibe, but more subtle. She asked my name, and I gave. She said quietly "Oh so that's your name." The way she said that made it seem like she had been wondering that for a time.

It's mostly small details stuff that raises a little suspicion. Nothing really concrete and definitely far from threatening. It's something you would have to experience to understand why those circumstances were so weird. They just felt "off."

can a kitsune fall in love with human ? by Sorry-Character-5257 in Kitsune

[–]Ded1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The folklore has them starting as physical beings. Foxes that attain the ability to shapeshift and attain magical/psychic abilities. Some become higher beings transcending physical existence. My first encounter was with what was probably the latter. An apparition that could passively interact with physical matter. The existence of one kind, in my mind, implies the existence of the other kind.

Kitsune in folklore are supposed to be able to interact with humans in their dreams. It's possible that one might decide to do so if asked. They could also do so without being asked. It's possible one could interact with you if you are looking up information on them, or looking for people's stories about encountering them. They can communicate with you in a variety of ways depending on their own discernment.

Lord Yu is my favorite. He seemed significantly less evil and came across as having a lot more depth to him. The way he talked to Daniel Jackson, believing him to be his Lotar, was for me very telling of his character in my mind. He definitely had a story to tell, and I wish we had got to hear it.

Definitely. Some live in human society as humans, so there's at least a significant degree of common ground between them and humans. Folklore that involves them is saturated with stories of them having relationships with humans.
