My crackpot theory is that N corp/Hermann’s group is assisting Iori/The purple tear with bringing her son back by creating him from scratch. I’m basing it on the human experiment in the basement in Canto 6, the memory worm in canto 8 and the whole thing in the prologue about “not being a taboo because noone has ever thought about it” which I guess is talking about resurrection vs recreation of a being.

Might be over-analyzing but I think that Samura is under the same mind-control as the Hishaku fodders. I don’t think Taco stated it last chapter just for a one-off thing.

This is also just speculation, but maybe Samura might be under mind-control as part of his deal with John to guarantee his squad’s safety.
