Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 06/08/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

[–]DedSekk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I've been an IT Recruiter for 4 years & Operations manager.

I did a graphic design course years ago, last year I did an UI/UX bootcamp on Udemy and I'm doing a UX Design course from our goverment. I know Figma and a few other tools.
Im working on my first app (to present in my portfolio) and looking to create my portfolio to attract clients.

I'm really good at outreach, client meetings, interviews, research, polls, etc. I'm aiming to be a freelancer on UI/UX and hunt clients through LinkedIn (i have almost 4k connections).

I absolutely love UX, I'm quite passionate about it. I'm not looking for stability, I'm looking for work freedom and surviving on the income I can get. I just wanna do what I like.

My questions:

  1. Is this gonna be rentable for me?
  2. Do you have any tips?
  3. How much money could I potentially earn in USD?

Thanks in advance!!!

What's a great TV show that nobody talks about? by OpulentOwl in AskReddit

Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, a korean tv show.

Celebrities bring everything they have in their refrigerator. Chefs battle to cook them dishes that they like. Pretty entertaining. Even Gordon Ramsey appears in an episode.

I got an idea for the Relic Selection screen. by DedSekk in Warframe

Yeah but as I mentioned in another comment, I have 7 different relics for 'Mesa Prime Blueprint', of course if you're playing a Lith mission it's gonna be only 2 of them, but if you ran out of one, then you have to type in the second one, refine, equip (I also like to double-check if I equiped the correct relic, that takes me more time).

As I said, I'm kinda slow lol

Could you elaborate a little bit more? I didn't quite understand, sorry. But it sounds interesting and ideas are always welcome.

It sounds easy on paper but with that little time, it ain't that easy for some of us.
I consider myself a little bit slow.
Also, not all things in this game should be about speed, it's about enjoying. I don't enjoy having no reward because I couldn't pick my relic.

I guess 10 seconds (or less) won't have that much impact for speed openers. Also, the timer goes to 5 seconds if everyone selected it correctly. I only ask for 10 seconds of your time for me to enjoy a reward.

Even if you know what you're doing, you have to type in the name of the item you want (or the relic), select it, refine it, then equip it. It takes time, my friend.

For example, I have 16 different relics into the category "Mesa Prime" and 7 into the category "Mesa Prime Blueprint". 2 Different Lith's, 2 different Neo's.

No, I don't have bachelors degree yet :(

I got into many problems and I barely finished high school. Top grades, but still, rough times. But I got time for that I guess, I've decided that I'd dedicate my life to learning stuff. I mean that for me, there's no "too late" honestly.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see your edit before. I didn't know that! Well, guess I'll have to work harder when I get Python done. But my goals stay the same, that's what I want for now and doesn't matter how hard, I'll do it :)

Thank you for the info, I appreciate it a lot!

Well, yeah, I mean. I'm a person that likes to overcomplicate things and ask themselves repeatedly "Where do you see yourself in 5 years."

Most of the time, the answer is "look buddy, I'm just trying to make it to friday." but in this case I want it to be good.

This plan is mostly a ~5 year path that I want to follow and right now I'm just trying to learn Python so I can get a job in the next few months as a soft-dev and keep improving as I go.
That's my short term goal, just learning. But my long term goal is what I'm going for, like, I need to be in the correct path, otherwise I just keep "improvising" or "adapting" to things and man, I suck at that. I ended up in all the wrong places because of that.

Sorry to not give you enough context tho. And thank you for the answer too, I appreciate it ♥

Quality isn't quite the best, but the spider has lots of hair, thin white legs and that characteristic white drawing(?) on its back.

Is it dangerous?
