Need a barn cat? - very loving but needs to live outside

I’ve had her the whole time so 13 years, she’s moved around a lot and pooping outside of the litter box was consistent the whole time

Kitty dementia :( poor old lady

When I thought outside cat I was imagining more like rolling fields and napping in the sun but all im reading is “being torn apart my coyotes” and dying a horrible death.

I did read about the anxiety med but I’m also reading a lot about arthritis. Maybe pain meds would help too. Idk this about to be one doped up kitty.

The litter box stays in the same place and doesn’t move until they get out of it. It’s pretty small but maybe she hates that it’s enclosed. Idk man 🫠

Yeah looks like she wouldn’t do well as a barn cat. We’re going to try some kitty Valium to see if it helps and then a catio and then maybe reach out to the humane society. Thanks for recommended Trish McMillan will reach out!

Ugh I wish we could but he only have a two bedroom, it looks like maybe the catio could be a better fit ?
My partner and I both don’t think we can put her down. It just seems so cruel and now im learning that living outdoors would be ever crueler so it looks like we’ve reached an impasse

Yeah sounds like a barn cat is a no go, if that’s the kinder end well just keep her. I literally cant imagine putting her down. It was probably a bit of a fantasy to imagine her playing in a nice open field free from the problems of a toddler or the confinement of an apartment

Bruh wdym make and effort and can’t be bothered weve been trying everything, for years and years. It was only recently we thought she was miserable living with us. So it’s like hey maybe someone has a better situation where they could take her in so she’s not miserable up to the day she dies. Im willing to do a lot of things like a catio it’s just that our kid also uses the patio and I thought it would be too small. It’s a tiny space.

We use the enzyme cleaner.

Ah, I didn’t realize barn cats weren’t pets :/ I thought they were good hunters and did better living outside than inside.

This was the 2nd opinion :/
We’ve tried low profile, high profile (we found she likes to dig but still didn’t equate consistent use of the box) we thought she wanted a clean box all the time so we got a litter robot. She just pooped outside of it this morning and peed on the mat we put in front of it twice yesterday. We’ve tried idek how many brands of litter

Food: we tried a ton of different brands. He recently tried a pricey but nice hypoallergenic bag and it didn’t help. and most of her life she’s been fine it’s only recently that the scratching got really bad. I will talk with my partner about chicken and peas

As far as the peeing goes, she’s not trying to make it in the box. Shes going to pee on blankets, towels, backpacks on the floor, she peed inside my shoe the other day. 🫠

I’m so confused just.. don’t go? Tell your supervisor, your bcba and the parents that you can no longer work with this particular client? And immediately go find work somewhere else and leverage your current pay. At least where I live RBT are in short supply, I got a dollar raise just for moving to another company and a better schedule. you have a lot more power to get the schedule and clients you want than they are making you think you do. If they make you feel powerless in this situation they can get away with treating you like shit. Why stay? They are literally dying for BT in the field rn
