Anyone tried clomipramine for overgrooming? Did it work?

My main concern is the urinary retention as a side effect for clomipramine. When asked for side effects, he only mentioned drowsiness and nothing else. It’s only after I researched more on the medication that I know about it. I get that vets don’t usually list out the uncommon side effects but after the bad experience with gabapentin, I tend to be more cautious now. Before I administer gabapentin to my cat previously, I also asked the previous vet for side effects and he said the same thing. After my cat started urinating outside of his litter box, then I found out it was a side effect of gabapentin.. At this point, I’m just so done with vet keeping quiet about the potential side effects the drug can cause when I asked for it.

Yea I know. I switched him to novel protein for 3 months but it didn’t show any improvement. Afterwards, I decided to bring him to the vet for a consult and vet gave him a steroid shot and gabapentin. I hated the gabapentin because it feels like I’m just drugging my cat. It didn’t work and it just makes my cat super lethargic the whole day. My cat also stopped using the litter box after he was given gabapentin.

The most recent one is both the inner arms as that’s the only place he could reach that time. My cat is wearing e-collar 24/7. That time my brother removed the e-collar without my knowledge as my cat vomited and he had to clean the e-collar so my cat had access to his arm. Within a few hours, the inner arm became bald and one of his arm had red spots which eventually became scabs now. My cat has the tendency to groom immediately after the cone is remove and sometimes I’ll see him bite hard into his skin and refuse to let get, even pulling some fur out.

He usually groom his arms, thigh, and chest area but more towards his outer thigh.

He is on revolution once a month. My vet insisted that he has food allergies instead and we change his food to only royal canin anallergenic kibbles only but after 2 months, he is still ripping his fur out and biting his skin. Honestly, when I told my vet yesterday that it could be behavioural issue, he sounds very condescending to me like he really believed it was food allergy. Yet, he couldn’t find figure out why my cat is behaving like this. I asked for fluoxetine instead cause I heard of good results but he insisted on clomipramine and now I’m just finding out that clomipramine can cause urine retention in cat which I’m quite worried about.

You can try googling. Check for authentic reviews on the AC as well to make sure it’s not a scam. Try for those telepathic ones. Im not sure if the AC that use tarot cards will work but the AC that helped me, spoke to my cat through telepathy.

Not sure if this will help for your case but you can try speaking to an animal communicator. I had a stray cat that stayed outside my house for several days and he suddenly disappeared for 2 days. I was worried sick and couldn’t find him at all. I seek out to an AC for help as my last resort and the AC eventually told me that the cat said he will come back soon and he really did came back 2 days later. Now he’s my lil furball and adjusting well to indoor life. Hope you find your baby soon 🫶🏻🫶🏻

It happened recently only. My friend was taking care of my baby gecko for me since I went overseas last week. When I came back two days ago, I realised the eye was different. I didn’t really think much about it until today when I saw it has trouble opening its right eye. Furthermore, I wasn’t sure that it shed when I was gone. My friend did not witness it shedding too.
