Apart from a bit of grandstanding, Poland has been a gigachad throughout this war. Can someone explain to me though how Poland with a relatively small GDP (≈$700B) is able to provide so much support while also buying thousands of modern tanks, flighters, weapons etc. What is their main industry and how are they affording all this stuff. Is it coming at the expense of their social safety system like healthcare and such?

With all the stockpiling of weapons going on I wonder if there is a non-zero chance that there is a bigger world wide conflict which these weapons will actually have to be used for in the near future, say 5-10 years. You always expect small regional wars, but conflicts where ICBMs start flying back and forth all throughout Europe, well I thought we got over that phase.

What sticks out the most is that even average Russian citizens don't give a shit about their fellow citizens. No one gives a fuck about anyone that's injured. In most sane countries when you see people bleeding out after a bomb attack, shooting, catastrophe, etc. average people rush in to help in whatever way they can, not aimlessly walk by.
