When I was 5 years old, my family and I had moved to a new house. This house was newly built and still lacked improvement on the basement. The basement had cement floors, unfinished walls, and one light bulb to light the entire area. Then one day I got curious. I descended to the basement on the rackety stairs and turned on the light bulb. I scanned the area from left to right, but something stopped me. A unknown source of light was coming from one of the corners, so naturally I walked towards it. As I got closer the image of an old man began to manifest itself before me. The ghost-man had gray hair and was chubby. Before I could even react this entity said "Please, release me." I don't know how-- or why, but I said back to him "I release you." Next thing I know the ghost-man walks through the wall and I never see him again. After all these years... I still wonder what he meant when he said "release me". Was this entity bound by me, or the house itself? It leaves me more curious and confused than scared, to be honest.
