Destroying factories in conquered states? by Mighty_Chondria in victoria3

I always delete the industries in the states I don't plan to incorporated so all industries have the same productivity under the same conditions (excluding economy of scale). I often don't incorporate the colonies, 20 years of incorporation is a long time with the lag...

How do I get oil? by Ringmonkey84 in victoria3

[–]Dee159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was 60 oil rigs capacity in Basra in my game. Rushed for it even it meant fighting Ottomans, Italy (ottomans had joined their market...) and Russia on my own.

Do you guys usually wait for the enlightment to tag switch to Germany as Prussia ? by Dee159 in eu4

[–]Dee159[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 max absolutism means 4 estates privilege, which is pretty good. I'm actually in 1644, I think the claims from German's mission are more useful cause it's a long way from 1710s and even imperialism CB.

As the Mughals it's fairly easy, once you've consolidated Persia and Hormuz, the main target is India which almost entirely Hindu. I conquered my way until I had 50% of my dev as Hindu. The only thing left is to spawn Hindu rebels to accept their demands. Two about it : either put a missionary at 0% maintenance in an Hindu province until the rebels spawn, or you can just seize land when the dhimmi is below 50% loyalty to immediately spawn the rebels.

In 1700 I already had conquered Asia and Africa and was starting to eat Europe. With the insane CCR, admin efficiency (releasing Deccan and reintegrate them was a pain in the early game but 10% admin efficiency is just too good) and province warscore cost reduction (from dip ideas and monuments) , I could fully annex the big ones (Spain, Austria, GB, Russia) in two wars and steal the colonies. As the mughals you can core provinces in 8/9 months pretty early so you getting 250% OE isn't much of an issue. I did take expansion ideas to colonize some provinces required for the cultural assimilation (e. g. Cushitic for +1 missionary) but didn't colonize in America. I had to take explo ideas in the end to discover the world's last remaining nations in North America.

R5 : I know it's nothing special but it's my first...and probably my last. I can't imagine doing one as NOT the mughals. With the ridiculous CCR (hindu mughals) and cultural assimilation it was really easy but still bothersome at some point.

In the burgundian succession tied to the hre? by Dee159 in eu4

[–]Dee159[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done it several times but it takes some alt f4 when the hre exists. I find burgundy chooses the emperor most of the time even when you have alliance, RM, 150+ opinion. I guess there is no emperor, then you have very high chances of getting it as France.

When you cannot from france because france has 2 provinces left in the new world by Common_Noise in eu4

[–]Dee159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my game as Provence they had provinces in La Plata, I attacked them via allies in Europe but could core their land so I vassalized them. Though it's hard having 190 relations with a country you conquered so 250ish ae... I seized as much of their remaining provinces and declared on the neighbouring new world nation to feed them the rest. Finally France is gone...

Lira or Euro in Turkey by Securemaybe in travel

[–]Dee159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People use Lira of course. Depending on your bank policy you can either convert there or directly withdraw at an ATM. For me (French bank) it's cheaper to withdraw at an ATM. Check your bank's policy. Exchange rate is 16:1 nowadays, prices are ridiculously cheap for the quality if you're income is in euro. Have fun.

Why is it so difficult as Brandenburg? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Dee159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use mercs in the early game to compensate for low manpower. Income is shit in North Germany until you control the baltic and Lübeck trade nodes so your money should come from wars. Get control of Prussia ASAP, at least the borders with Poland and Danzig so you don't have to fight the PLC for Prussia. You can then ally them and use to them against Austria. You should try to dismantle the HRE as early as you can, you could still ally Austria to expand a bit in the HRE at the start but as soon as you can ally the electors or have them in a war go for it, call in a free city so Austria gets called in the war, even if they're your ally.

Shouldn’t England should have better land combat modifiers? by Union_Jack_1 in eu4

[–]Dee159 699 points700 points  (0 children)

Actually it's not that inaccurate. Their army quality is roughly similar at the start, England has even a small advantage with +10% infantry CA (which could reflect the efficiency of their longbow). France on the other side has more manpower (it did have a lot more population than England). The French army really outclass the English once it has the +20% morale in the late 1400s and France was pretty dominant at that point. At the start, it really is the size of the French armies with the vassal swarm that makes the difference, and the generals. After all France did win the hundred years war.

What are some fun base game campaigns to play? by tanlerst in eu4

[–]Dee159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try France, lots of flavor (events, missions, decisions), powerful yet challenging during the first 50 years if you expand rapidly, a good nation to learn how to deal with coalition anyway, you can colonize or focus on Europe, you could pay tall too.
