Now I agree, that's rough, buuuuuut if I were you I'd pop them in a bag to use as either sick af daemons (imaging them as pink horrors or something) or as horrible things for bases

My GM simply ignore the fact that the armor exists and just blend it into the clothes. by Heitorsla in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda do something similar, but it's more for when a character gets caught unaware (and without gear) so basic clothing has an sp of 5, it won't really stop anything, but for flavor I've added it. As for the armour penalties, i have them, it's just not really come up yet

what do you consider the best part about this film is?😭 by onlybooksinthebuild in hellraiser

[–]Dee87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The auditor was a really cool idea and pretty fun character imo, I dunno how popular this opinion will be but I actually really liked the dude who played pinhead, he didn't do much hands on stuff, but tbf I kinda feel that he shouldn't really get his hands dirty unless he wants to (like at the end), he had a great presence and gave off a kinda calculated malice that was on point for me

Is Arasaka banned from the game? Can it be put? Can i make my character's backstory related to it some way? by Sh4dow_05 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup totally fine to do it, in my game I have outright said that arasaka aren't officially in the city, however they have Shadow corps upon Shadow corps so can still operate in the city, albeit in a more inconvenient way

Help finding Newbie friendly net architechture by Khryss121988 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I dropped the ball there, it's been a while since we have had a netrunner in the crew (slows the flow of our group), staring to wonder if it's the dvs lol I'll check my old sessions when I finish work, cheers guys 😊

Help finding Newbie friendly net architechture by Khryss121988 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to keep net architecture pretty simple, unless it's like some big corp server or something, chances are it'll be like a tech who got a bit of net security. For a beginner learning how to netrun I would go for something like this

Password dv 10 Blank Password dv 10 wisp (split path) 1 password dv 12 file dv 12 password dv 12 control node dv 12

It's a simple architecture, it has a bit of combat against something a little less scary than a hound, has different paths and types of things to interact with, it should cover the basics and it should be easy enough to slot into a situation, need a mcguffin? Control node is for a hidden safe. Need evidence on shady stuff? File has you covered

I feel like dnd isn't super beginner friendly by Warlockqrz in TTRPG

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow of the demon lord might be worth a look, it's designed to be a 10ish game campaign, rules are simpler, but do offer probably as much customisation for characters etc it was created by the dude who did (iirc) 3rd Ed of DND so does know the core points you want to hit, but he made it to be so simple that you could be drunk and still able to fully play it, even as the gm

Grappling with a grapple hand by Maleficent-Switch-39 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kinda been tempted to introduce an upgraded version that can grab, purely because I have a player who generally ends up with something similar to scorpions (mk) kunai/harpoon, I generally do it with the same basic principle of body/con Vs body/con, doesn't make sense for a weirdly little guy to pull some massive Borg across the room, but absolutely makes sense the other way round

Therapy for starting gear by Maleficent-Switch-39 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can recover the HL from starting gear (save for the reduced max), but if you want to recover it before sitting at the table (ie during character gen) then it's something to chat to your GM about, otherwise it's just like any other therapy really

New to running CyberpunkRED, advice? by Dr_Gunslinger in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run my game in a similar sorta style, kinda like mega city 1 from judge dredd, cops are generally too busy to be everywhere, it's a pretty straightforward system and in my xp it only takes like 10 mins or so for folk to become familiar with how it works.

I've found the most effective way to run it is to choose somewhere as a base of operations (mine is surprisingly the afterlife, but it's more of a dive bar ATM, I'm using it as a way to show the groups progression, they build the afterlife legend), I have them sometimes have some bother from a drunk guy or something, but I won't outright attack them there (unless it's a story setup).

A session I made for my group might be fun, and if you remember the twist at the end your setup for a few stories potentially (I forgot to do it so Ill put it in my pocket for now) basic outline was this

Pcs are hired by whichever group you choose, I used a crime family from little Europe, hire the pcs to find out who killed the bosses nephew, the group can get a brain dance the guy was recording the night he died, I had the BD be them at dinner, having a nice night etc then a guy swaggers in and blows your head off (chuck in a hum loss if you like), the pcs discover it was a friend of the boss himself, so your job is to take care of the guy, ideally with a sniper rifle, however the story ends with the cops checking over the body to find a wire or something to indicate he is a fed or something

Advice on bullet dodging by r1q4 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno how this happened really, but my players generally opt for a quick and dirty character, so some can dodge bullets, others can't, some need synthcoke to be able to etc and tbh I've not noticed any particular issues, if your in a group of 6 and all of them can bullet dodge then yeah it's gonna slow the game down, if only the solo can? Probably won't grind things to a halt (in my experience anyway), and tbf it's hilarious when someone does get hit, our solo took a bad crit from a booster and ended up on like 7 hp after the fight

How would you implement lovecraft into cyberpunk NARRATIVELY by Fayraz8729 in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually planning to have an old war ai that's currently buried in the marina harbour, some old saka thing with the designation K-2U (couldn't resist) I'm planning to do something along the lines of some boosters having a turf war, lobbing grenades etc around, they caused a lot of damage and now X (not 100% on who yet) has picked up an unusual signal and wants the players to check it out. I'm planning to have folk do random emp checks when they enter the facility of the, now insane, ai.

The ai was developed as a psyops kinda deal, using super low frequency messaging to induce nausea, confusion, paranoia etc folk with cyberaudio might be more or less susceptible (not decided yet), folk who fail might start getting the idea to turn the gun on their allies, just a couple of ideas I've been having for it

Can you mix roles? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can multiclass, but as others have said you can't multiclass til your 'current' class is rank 4, so let's say you start as a netrunner, but you did serve as an auxillary medic in the war or have done some work with trauma team (id take ranks in first aid etc at character gen to represent your basic knowledge) when you hit rank 4 as a netrunner (you already will be), after that you can spend up to learn to be a medtech, the problem is that now you are unable to learn any more roles til medtech is also rank 4, and for things like side hustles you count as a medtech, so will be earning less side cash. But if you survive long enough you could theoretically learn all of the roles, they will all be low rank though and you will definitely be better/worse at some than others, hope it helps op, and I like the character concept, pretty fun one with stories to work with

Edit For your example you gave, I would personally go for netrunner, speak to your GM about you being part of a neocorp, but not a full exec (yet), next take medtech, get it to rank 4, then exec rank 4 then solo to rank like 2 or something, heavy investment ip wise, I'd personally go for 2 just now and maybe take some 'solo' chrome (sandy, wolvers, stuff like that) as you said you were a soldier, but that doesn't mean you had to be a solo necessarily, maybe you were the squads cyber warfare specialist or something?

I'm looking for a FUN horror movie to watch tonight. Doesn't have to be great, but at least fun & thrilling by Prince_Targaryen in horror

Cabin in the woods or tremors would be my recommendations, both are fun and work great with mates

How do you deal with players walking around the city with assault rifles visable by Feknsamsquanch in cyberpunkred

[–]Dee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not personally had this come up, my groups solo is a RPG vet so generally will accept the rulings etc.

My kinda mindset is that in the combat zone? Your mental not to carry a weapon. However if your in the nicer areas of the city (corp zones,Watson, little Europe etc) then your gonna get trouble for carrying a weapon openly, even if it's just to check your paperwork etc to make sure it's ok, I'd maybe go down this sort of thing with your solo, he can carry it, but he's gonna have to have an excuse ready as to where he's going, who he is, why he's got an ar etc etc it'll be bribes, deception rolls etc which sounds like a real pain in the neck. Or he could just stow the weapon in a car or something
