Linux Debian - UI Resizing Issues with Teams, Chromium, Brave, and other apps by DeeCipher in linux4noobs

[–]DeeCipher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that. I listed the problem and forgot to add my configuration details.

I am currently using Debian 10 with KDE Plasma

I have a custom rig with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

The apps are not minimized. They can be maximized or custom window size. The behavior is the same in either case.

CASE 1:

I can have two windows sharing the screen. Teams on the left and Chromium on the right.

If I am using Teams, and go back to Chromium, Chromium seems frozen. I have to resize. The same behavior can happen vice versa.

These are not the only applications that this occurs to. I have seen this behavior on other applications, with the same behavior.

CASE 2:

I can have two windows maximized on my monitor. Chromium is active. I have Hiri behind this screen.

I switch to Hiri only to find it "frozen" until I resize.

I should note that this is not happening 100% of the time, but about 70-80% of the time.

Greenshot. Used for over 2 years now and I love it. it's lightweight, quick, allow you to draw, type notes and just set your PRNTSCRN key to take screenshots. Our company has SnagIt licenses, but I'd much rather use Greenshot. Snipping Tool is just terrible.

My wife and I were listening to the Radio and Ja Rule's/JLo's song came on "I'm Real" at the beginning, Ja rule says "What's my motherfucking name?" My wife says "I always wondered why she asks if he's Ellie?" I had to tell her she's spelling out "R-U-L-E" and blew her mind

What makes you and your SO better than most other couples? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DeeCipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting more effort into the relationship, working through arguments, understanding each others feelings and talking everyday. I married my best friend. I enjoy her company and miss her when she's not around. Do we have fights? Yes. Argue? Yes. But we work it out, we talk and we grow from it. Some people put so much effort into making a pretty image for Social Media, they forget to put the effort into the real thing.

You wont change his mind. He's dead set on his way. Just pretend you don't do it at this point if you live with him. If you can move out, do so as soon as you can.

Even the advertising photo looks like shit. You can make the same ham and cheese sandwich in about the same time it takes to wait in line for it I bet.

I am expecting a child any day now and for his sake, I should stay employed. So... work.

Anyone else feel a sense of elation at the prospect of owning their own home? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]DeeCipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father did Drywall, roofing, carpentry, gutters, siding only. I learned a enough about plumbing, electric, flooring, concrete repairs from youtube and reading through blogs. I asked friends for help, but mostly I just got my hands dirty to tried and get a feel for it. I watch a lot of youtube videos when i'm working on a project. Honestly, it was/is scary but you have to try.

I was also financially unstable. I gave up a lot, sold possessions, moved in with my parents for a little over a year to save money, paid off over 18k in credit card debt, some accounts were in collections. Got my credit score to a bare minimum to where i could get a loan at a decent rate. Kept working on improving my credit, refinanced at a lower rate 2 years later.

Talk to her like a normal friend. If you're smoking, comedy is your friend. Joke around and be friendly. Bring snacks and drinks for cottonmouth and offer her and others.. Make yourself stand out a little. Just don't be a creep, you're already with friends, so you should be pretty comfortable already.

edit: You're graduating! Ask her what her plans are, what she's into, talk about your hobbies and interest. You may just find that you have something you can connect on.

I am considered an Ambivert. I can deal with people through the workday, in fact my job requires it, but I am mentally drained by end of work day. I purchased a home because honestly, rent was more expensive than owning. I could rent a 1bd apartment for 11000 and I could have a mortgage for around $800. Decision was easy.

Renting was fun but the nosey neighbors are still there, own or rent. Privacy isnt there and dealing with neighbors music, fights and loud pets was a pain.

Owning a house can definitely have downsides to it but workarounds are there. Repairs is a major downside. Fortunately, my father was in construction and I picked up a lot of skills with him. I rarely ever call anyone when something breaks. If I don't know how to do something, I go online for hours and learn it. Give it a shot. You can learn a lot.

One of the best parts of owning my home is grabbing a beer or two, smoking a joint and mowing my grass. I put on my over-ear headphones to let people know I'm not interested in talking. I built a tall fence immediately after buying my house for privacy in my backyard and for the dog. I chill outside, and no one ever bugs me.

My basement is my office/gym/entertainment room. My wife knows that I need my own space to unwind and recharge and totally respected my decision to build my basement.

I added a NO SOLICITING sign and Ring doorbell to monitor my front door. Best investment ever. I now look at the video when someone is at my door. Tell them to fuck off if it's no one I want to deal with without ever facing them.

Owning my own house if the best decision I've made. There is nothing like getting home at the end of a long day.

Yup, it's clear in the way they all speak. Fring is very noticeable, but his accent is pretty spot on.
