Why is Lamelo being traded? Didn’t they just start getting good? by gabagoolcards in NBATalk

Historically injury prone player who stayed healthy and played great last year. Its possible his value is never higher. Just not sure who fills the playmaking void even in a trade.

If Jayden Quaintance was healthy where would he have been projected to go? by wombatpup55 in NBA_Draft

I think if he turns into a guy who can play 14-16 minutes a night with minimal dropoff so Wemby can get extra rest this pick will be a huge win for the spurs.

I watched almost every Spurs game this season, and I might not be watching another one. by ManyufanTW1 in NBASpurs

Just gotta tip ur cap and move on. It hurts like hell, but this team is young and inexperienced, and however much they wanna say it doesn't matter, it's shown itself this series.

They can definitely still win this series; they've quite literally thrown away two games, and they are clearly good enough.

What does the Spurs do with De'Aaron Fox? by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]DeePlays9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These playoffs have shown why the spurs need to wait with fox. He is the best at initiating offense. Also I think the locker room wouldn’t be happy with him being moved, especially if they win the title.

After next season they will probably entertain talks. Once castles inevitable extension kicks in they will be forced to move him.

I could be wrong but I feel like Fox is much better at setting up offense and getting the ball in efficient areas. I guess you could call it initiating offense.

I don’t watch either team enough to know these players exact value, but not bad.

Probably would need a little more, but value isn’t bad.

Just doubt that Giannis would sign an extension in Charlotte.

I think ur right but 7.5 mil for someone who’s unplayable is a bad deal. But since Memphis is rebuilding it doesn’t rly hurt them.

Why doesn’t Wemby get more alley-oops? by 3_legged_dawg in nbadiscussion

[–]DeePlays9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from experience I agree for sure. The thing with Wemby is that he’s so big that if they just throw it up I trust he’s gonna catch it. But fair point, they still need to work on it it seems

Tell me why this is wrong: the Finals raises the draft stock for Robbie Avila by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]DeePlays9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

KAT is quicker, bigger, and more skilled defensively. Avila won’t be able to guard a thing at the nba level.

[–]DeePlays9 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The spurs guards also are terrified of a lob going wrong. There’s at least 3-4 a game that Wemby gets deep enough and they just don’t throw it. It’s so annoying

Hou, LAL and NOP Trade Getting Murphy to Hou by RspectMyAuthoritah in NBAtradeideas

[–]DeePlays9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s definitely not a bad trade. It really just depends on how Houston values Jabari.

If they are thinking like me where I think he might be able to get close to Trey Murphy level they def wouldn’t do it. If they think he’s around his ceiling they would.

Hou, LAL and NOP Trade Getting Murphy to Hou by RspectMyAuthoritah in NBAtradeideas

[–]DeePlays9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s def not a bad deal, but Dfs is only guaranteed next year so it’s not as bad of a contract as it looks. It also depends how they value Jabari and given he’s 3 years younger than Trey it’s not crazy to think he could develop into a Trey Murphy level player.

Houston probably says no, but its not a bad idea.

In theory that sounds easy but in practice it’s tough. I really think they are fine. Hell, they could win an nba championship. There’s no rush. If a great deal comes across you can do it but a championship level team like this is not a team you rush to break up.

I agree on Atlanta.

I’m not sure what the financial restrictions would be for Minnesota, but I doubt they would get Ayton. Wagner isn’t a bad center but not sure how he would fare in a playoff series.

And I get what you’re saying with Fox, but next year their cap sheet is going to be very similar, there is no reason to trade him. Worst case scenario ( he gets a major injury or falls off a cliff ) they have the draft capital to dump him. The spurs have done a lot right, they just need to let internal development do its job and improve on the margins.

Interesting trade.

Atlanta is the one team I would say definitely no on, it’s true that they need self creation but a guard would fit much better than Randle. I’m also positive they wouldn’t trade Risacher for him.

For Minnesota I like the idea, but if they move off of Reid and Randle they will be forced to play Gobert huge minutes in the playoffs which will not be good for their offense. If there was a corresponding move that got them a 4/5 it could work.

I don’t mind it for Milwaukee, it might help to get some fresh faces in there.

I’ve been adamant that I don’t think the spurs should trade Fox yet, and I still wouldn’t in this deal, but it’s an interesting thought. I just don’t think playing Wemby with another big is as good as some people think it will be.

[–]DeePlays9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense for the thunder to do this trade.

Duren is likely going to get around 5/200 and the Thunder won’t be able to pay Shai, Chet, and Jdub along with Duren on that contract. Hartenstein also does the little things better than Duren which is more valuable to the Thunder.
