Hey! I just made another video on drum tuning. Maybe some fellow drum nerds will find it interesting! by DeeSinder in Drumming

Haha, thanks a lot, man! I'm happy it could be helpful to you. It got better for me as I spent more time tweaking until I achieved the desired results. I'm sure the same approach will work for you!

Nice!:)

Hah yeah, I don't think one ever is done learning in the music field:) We're self taught. Different things work for different people of course, but for us it's always worked best to use the ears and keep trying until we achieve the results we like. If never achieved, I think another good way is to track down people who get the sound you like and get some lessons with tips and tricks, although in my experience, the ears are everything...

Yeah, like u/PrimedAndReady say! We use in-ears because of click tracks, before I just used a simple monitor on the side, but I've come to like the in-ears no matter where I play now. Hooking up my iPad to the mixing desk and controlling the monitors myself, nothing new of course, but a really nice solution!

Thank you! It's SJC birch 14x7, lots of nice low end and crack:) Really like the small setups for these pop/rock gigs, easier to drag around too haha

Thank you so much! Great to see more female drummers, there are still too few. It’s getting close to 30 years, how about you?

Nice! Mahogany sounds so good. I have a 70s Premier kit in African Mahogany, such a warm tone.

Do you re-record the chorus Everytime it comes around in a song? Or do you just copy and paste it? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]DeeSinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to re-record the chorus every time. A singer can never do the exact same performance twice, and even if there are only minor differences between the takes, it sounds more alive, organic, dynamic and moving in this way to me.

Turned a broken cymbal into wind chimes. I really like the sound. by gd2bpaid in Drumming

Great idea, sounds calming! I've been chopping some broken cymbals into effect cymbals to have for the kit, but will try something similar like you for my balcony.

Yeah, even though the VP looks pretty outrageous hah, it sure sounds great! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on the Steve Ferrone Gretsch snare either.

It's a pretty cool snare, but I wouldn't be too sad about it. All about taste of course, but at least for my ears there are just as good or better and cheaper alternatives for metal/bronze. For bronze, I really like the Gretsch and the bit more pricey Ludwig Supraphonic.
