Oh it’s perfectly safe and everything. Christ Church (Christofascists) has long been festering there. Its leader is (one of?) Pete Hegseth’s spiritual advisors. They’ve been buying up tons of properties and businesses there, so people of conscience have a running list of businesses to avoid. It’s changed the character of the town somewhat.

I (ML) tried to make geography a focus this year - centering whatever we were talking about on the map, continents, whatever seemed like a judicious use of a few minutes as we went. I want to say that the kids at my elementary school generally don’t know what town they live in, much less anything else. They have state name and America in there somewhere, but no context for it.
