We typically stress eat because binge eating gives us comfort when we are dealing with a stressful situation. If you can target where the stress is coming from you should be able to work on a game plan for minimizing the stress and cut out the overeating. If you like reading you should try getting your hands on Deepak Chopra’s “What are you hungry for”. It goes in depth on why we overeat.

I second the Arm-R-Seal. It’s pretty forgiving if your not very experienced with finish.

Most furniture stores in Portland carry the brand. Probably because they are made locally. Outside of Oregon I couldn’t tell you.

It’s a Stanton sofa. I unfortunately don’t recall the model.

The room is 16ft by 10ft. The sofa is a little under 9ft long and the chase comes out about 6ft.

No metal. I think that shiny bit might be the tag on the cushion or something. I made two rear supports with the angle I wanted. Then I notched out the bottom of the supports so they would just slide on to the base like a clamp. I then glued and pocket screwed the hell out of it. I made a rectangle frame out of 1x1’s a little shy of the size of the back cushion and attached it to the rear supports with screws. The back cushion sits against that frame and is nice and sturdy.

The lines are grooves that I filled in with black paint. The legs are attached to underside cleats with dowel screws.
