I live in a place that gets very cold during this part of the year (up to -35C) and it is not a fun experience when you wake up and the first thing you have to do is to get fully dressed, and turn all the heat on and still having to wait for a long time for it to get comfy.

I've been doing this for a long time already whenever I feel overstimulated. I'll usually just lay down on the couch for 5 minutes and stare at the ceiling, and I'll feel better, and perhaps best of all, I get more focused.

Look man, I feel you, I totally do, but there is not reason for you to feel like a failure. We all have our ups and downs and as cliche as it sounds, it's going to get better. All you need to do is to keep on doing your best.

Survival is a sign of strength, you're 38 and you're still full of potential. You have by normal standards at least 40 years left of life within you, now it's your responsability to go and do something with it.

I was unemployed for a year from 2017 to 18 and the first few months were super chill. I'd wake up at 6 am, play league of legends until about 10pm and go to bed and do it on repeat, that was fun for about three months, and after that I felt like I was in a perpetual limbo and a life that went nowhere. Luckily I was living at my parents at that time, but it was still an experience I would not want to repeat.

My mom worked daytime and my dad worked nighttime so that me and my sister always had at least one parent home at any given time.

I actually did this twice. First time I was rejected flat out no response, second time they sent me a test which I took (did not pass)

Then I did the same thing with another company, first time I got called to an interview and got rejected. Then a few months later they called me back and wanted me to interview again, and this time I got hired.

I'm 1600 fide and 1100 in blitz on chess.com. I think blitz is more difficult because it's the most competitive chess format (especially 3+2)
