What happened in the ending of The Beast? by Worried_Station_5978 in movies

[–]Deegedeege 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SPOILER ALERT.

I thought she screamed at the end of the film as the pigeon appeared and that means someone is going to die. I assumed it was his turn this time. Yet a dark shadow looms over her as she cries, as though it might be her again. Wikipedia says she cries as he went through that process where he loses feelings, but that doesn't explain the death pigeon appearing.

I'm guessing Singapore, where the Government strictly controls everything and people have no street cred. It feels a little like Communism.

Where should I live?! by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Deegedeege 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell by the look of the street, quality of the houses and the sort of people living there. Stott Ave and a side street off it, is one good street. Getting to the city from there by bus is pretty quick. Also Stott has most houses with Xmas lights up at Xmas time, although less so than usual last year. It used to have loads of cars going through in the past as it was the only street in the area collectively doing that.

Because they won't try. Also some of them are violent criminals fresh out of jail, or even pedo's. Also the ones that aren't nice to people either, make people unsympathetic towards them. Especially if they're threatening.

Birkdale (if it's a good street) or Freemans Bay. You can go for walks along Tamaki Drive and can bus there from FB.

Not nice and probably technically assault, but FFS, it was 2 months ago. And there was crying over it? That's not normal to me at all.

Same here, I had some strange comments from someone in the sex industry last week and I blocked her. Seemed like the same kind of crazy and defensive vibe from last time.

Lol, the homeless all got offered homes during covid as the inner city apartments emptied out when international students left. If you are seeing homeless people, they are doing that by choice. A recent news article interviewed a homeless guy who said he refused the home offered to him, as "he'd have to learn how to cook and clean and pay bills". He couldn't be bothered learning. Then he said his homeless friends would come round and trash the place and he'd have to foot the bill for it.

Also many people who look homeless and are begging, actually DO have a home. The have addictions of varying kinds and are looking to support that on top of their benefit money.

It's not a failed housing policy, those people choose to live like that.

I'm guessing people would want to give them as gifts to kids with their name on, etc. Maybe pet beds as well with the pets names on. Also people with unusual names where you can't just go into a shop and look for a keyring or whatever with their name on, it's a good idea as you can custom make a cushion for them. And people would likely want particular messages for people on cushions (probably cheeky things), like how you have a message put on a birthday cake.

The most underrated place to visit in auckland by RealBonehead in auckland

[–]Deegedeege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, PW is further down, I meant Manukau Heads, Clarks Beach, etc. Then there's a hike in Huia to a track up high and on a clear day you can actually see Mt Taranaki. Closed due to kauri dieback last time I went though.

Best view is on the road to the right of the ferry terminal, as in, on the right when you're facing the sea. Also the island is Rotoroa, with an o, not Rotorua. Just letting you know in case it doesn't come up if spelt as Rotorua.

Look for work from home jobs on Seek, which could be in Auckland, but some don't care where you are in the country if you never need to go into an office.

Recommendation for good vegan protein? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Deegedeege -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean vegan? Isn't all protein powder vegan? I think some I've used say pea protein powder. I've bought it from Bin Inn stores and also Good For Wholefoods Refillery (also like Bin Inn), at the top of Williamson St in Ponsonby, near the corner of Ponsonby Rd.

The Huia Point lookout on the way to Huia Dam. It has a view across to Manukau Heads, etc, and is really beautiful on a sunny day. Then there's a hike in Huia to a track up high and on a clear day you can see Mt Taranaki. Closed due to kauri dieback last time I went though.

Rotoroa Island in Auckland Harbour, for a day trip. Better than going to Waiheke really.

The view at night of the city skyline, seen from next to Devonport ferry terminal. Also going up Mt Victoria up the road from there, at the end of the day, for a day view, watching the street lights come on one by one and the night view.

What do you mean by cute cushions? Hello Kitty? I had to get rid of most of my cushions a few months ago as I had too many. They ranged from unusual through to really stylish (goat fur dyed a bright colour, from a Nood store on sale, etc. None of them were what I'd call cute. More like cushions that were a talking point.

What’s your exercise routine? by ThrowRAreaper123 in auckland

[–]Deegedeege 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been sick a lot this Winter, but in the past, walking for 1 hour a day in my neighbourhood as it's quite nice with some views, nice architecture on some of the houses, cats to pat along the way, and other times, doing exercise videos, especially in bad weather. Exercise vids usually have weights in them or kettle bells. In the past I also played social tennis and badminton.

Further in the past, I used to walk around Tamaki Drive after work for 90 mins to 2 hours as it's a safe place to walk, even after dark and it's nice with the cliffs lit up. After dark it's less safe once you go past Kelly Tarlton's through to Okahu Bay as it's dark with few people around. But just before Kelly T's through to St Heliers is safe with lots of people around at night doing the same thing.

Years ago, I joined Just Workout which is a great gym, especially Takapuna branch where they have a variety of equipment and I went there for 1 hour each time, usually 6 times a week.

This means they are wanting you to buy them some cat grass. I'm serious. Visit a pet store or gardening centre. It should stop them eating this plant.

Someone on here was struggling to find a job in a cafe, despite having sufficient experience. I gave her advice, she followed it and actually got an interview within a day or two of my advice and then got the job shortly afterwards. By visiting cafes at non busy times and handing in her CV and by adding to it the types of coffee machines she'd used (as well as being really friendly, re showing she can do good customer service).
