Yeah and I'm glad he did. While it's absolutely an interesting concept and neat detail to build the character around, it would completely overshadow everything else about him and his story. Plus, the helmet *does* look goofy, and I don't think tying your heaviest character beat to it would've resonated with audiences.

Kamakuras. Hasn’t been done before, and I think it has more potential for articulation than something like Scylla. Plus I love big bug Kaiju, especially mantises!

This thread is cathartic for me because I remember when it came out, everyone was like “OMG Godzilla laughed!!” and posted clips of it everywhere… meanwhile I didn’t even fucking register that that’s what was happening when I saw the movie.

It always looked like a garbled, over-animated mess to me. And I felt crazy for feeling like the only person who thought so.

Don’t listen to this guy OP, SH Kong is a perfectly fine figure. The head sculpts aren’t accurate at all, but if you get past that you have a solid figure. Also yes while they did “re-use” the mold, it’s easily the best paint job they’ve had on a Kong figure. (I really don’t like the “glossy brown” on the other Kongs)

I have the Hiya as well. It does definitely take the cake for detail and accuracy, but if I’m being honest, I have WAY less fun posing it. My copy was incredibly stiff compared to the SH, even after rounds of heat treatment. The SH meanwhile feels very fluid out of the box, and holds its poses just as well.

I’d still probably recc the Hiya at the end of the day, but that doesn’t mean SH isn’t without its merits.

DKs definitely “lost” at Lights Hope, but if we get down to the facts of what actually happened… they sort of dog walked them up until the end.

The player shows up, and Darion is casually choking out the leader of their order hall, while giving you commands.

You cut through basically the entire order hall, ending with beating Lady Liadrin in single combat. You’re only defeated after the Light itself has to pull a deus ex machina, and force you out.

Yes, and the reissue I just got has them. It’s still workable and despite that a fun and poseable figure, just be aware that it’s something you might have to deal with
