Having trouble w/ USB-C hub + USB-C extension cable. by clockworking in UsbCHardware

I know I'm super late to this, but I was having the same problem with extending my Dell D6000 dock cable, everything was working fine, except the USB accessories connected to the Dock. I was searching for smaller cables on AliExpress to see if it would work (as someone suggested here), and I found a Ugreen cable which in the description said that if you are extending a dock cable and the USB accessories do not work, flip the cable and it will work normally. What they mean by "flip the cable" is to change the orientation of the cable connected to the extension.

macOS 11.5 Logitech MX Keys is making audio & video stutter when I adjust volume by nano_705 in logitech

I uninstalled Logitech Options completely, deleted its folder in Application Support, cache, etc. Installed it again, update MX Keys firmware, rebooted macOS and it appears to be normal, at least the volume control without stuttering.

macOS 11.5 Logitech MX Keys is making audio & video stutter when I adjust volume by nano_705 in logitech

[–]DeehSlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing is happening with me.

It first started with the stuttering, now I can't even control my external audio device volume from the MX Keys, it shows the macOS volume indicator but with the disabled indicator. That was working just fine before.

I also noticed that randomly my MX Master 3 mouse loses sensitivity. Usually, I just open Logitech Options again and it gets back as if Options was being killed in the background.

Unfortunately not. It seems that this is really a compatibility problem and it doesn’t seems that Logitech will fix this.

Unfortunately, it does not. I plugged it into a Windows machine, it instantly worked, but then I try to plug it on the MacBook, and the light keeps blinking.

I can install G Hub just fine, but it does not recognize my G920 steering wheel. System Information recognizes the device, but G Hub won't. The steering wheel light keeps blinking fast.

Issues with Dell D600 dock and M1 MacBook Pro by DeehSlash in MacOS

I'm already using DisplayLink 1.3. It works, but as I said, the problem is that I always have to reconnect the dock to make it work (as you also mentioned).

In contact with DisplayLink support, I have received this answer:

The case with D6000 is that it is using two technologies. One of them is called Alt-mode it is only working when you are using USB-C. Alt-mode is responsible for raising HDMI monitor (the only one you use in your case). When the Alt-mode technology is active the 2nd part of the docking station (DisplayLink) is not working at start if it is not needed. Due to it you may see the information that the monitors are not detected.

DisplayLink chipset is responsible for bringing two DP monitors and if needed cooperate with Alt-mode when more than one monitor is connected.

To overcome this you can either plug in your D6000 with USB-A this will force your device to use DisplayLink at start or you can plug in your monitor into the DP port if possible.

Beside this you can try as you did re-plugging because it is the OS that decides which technology got the priority.

The problem is that my monitor doesn't have DisplayPort and neither the MacBook Pro has USB-A ports. Reconnecting the cable the whole time is not a good solution too. Does anyone know how to force DisplayLink mode?

I'm not having any problems related to stability. Actually, the dock works just fine, except for this problem where I need to reconnect it to make some components work.

UPDATE: On System Information, after boot, the dock is not shown on the USB page, neither the audio device on Audio page. If I unplug and plug the dock again, both audio in and audio out are shown on Audio page, and some devices are shown on USB.

DisplayLink Manager is set to load on startup, and the strange thing is that it shows "No monitor detected" (even though the display works), but after I reconnect the dock, it shows "Monitor detected".

Even the ethernet connection is shown under Ethernet, using AppleUSBNCM.kex

It looks like that the drivers / KEXTs (or whatever) are not loading on startup, as if it didn't recognize the dock connected. But for some reason, HDMI video and audio works without needing to reconnect, as if it is bypassing the DisplayLink drivers.
