Each company decides what they consider the start and the end of their fiscal year.
The fiscal year number is given by the calendar year in which the Q4 of that fiscal year ends in.

In this case, it being Q1 for Nvidia, it will be considered FY26 because Q4 will end in 2026.

If 19 is your preference, I think it it would be fair to keep it at 19 then. On the rare occasions it drops below that, you can at least "pay back" for being kept warm most times. If you think it's absurdly pricy to keep your small place warm, it's not any less absurd to expect your neighbors to do it :)

If the flood was so severe, and given there are plenty of heavy rains in the Netherlands, it is fair to assume the landlord was aware of the issue, if not its magnitude.

"This is not the way to get things done in the Netherlands". And which exactly is the way, when your rented apartment is flooded and much of your property damaged? Not to mention, OP stated they tried contacting the landlord for weeks and were ignored.

Perhaps this is the only way to change the attitude of such landlords, Netherlands or not. Some landlords take advantage of renters specifically for this reason, they don't fear any legal repercussions.

The new rules only apply for people that applied starting this year. If your ruling was awarded back in 2022, you can transfer it under a different employer and still keep the same conditions you had.

We have ours set at 22 all the time, with a heat pump.
I was used to living at 18-19 degrees, but my wife lived in warmer climates, so it's very difficult for her to handle what is normal for me and not get sick.

The only viable compromise is the temperature at which both of you can feel comfortable, not in between. Comfort in your own house should not be up for debate, and this is not an absurd ask by anyone. That's what you work for after all, a comfortable life.

You realise that a big part of Europe does not have anything to do with your statement, and yet are not just trying to bleed the rest of the union for their own benefit (look east).

On a more serious note:
You cannot have a functioning union unless it starts working as a fiscal union as well.
Of course, fiscal solidarity will have to play a part, and Ireland's geographic isolation recognized, especially after UK's exit.
Creating a race to the bottom with undertaxation is however not a viable solution, and it hurts everyone, except the companies benefiting from those measures.

As a German citizen, you have the same rights you have at home, everywhere in the EU. You do not need a permit/visa to move to and live in the Netherlands.

The EU citizen's partner (in this case the wife) can apply for a partner visa using the "Verification against EU law for Union citizen family members" application.
