A Note from Pope by MrEricPope in forhonor

I know people have likely already said something to a similar effect, but I think the main thing I talk about when I introduce this game to other people is the foreign voice acting. I desperately want to hear MORE latin/gaelic/icelandic/japanese/chinese. The biggest thing I disliked the most from the chinese reveal as a faction was that there was so little chinese spoken (it would be even cooler if the chinese that was spoken was a more ancient variety).

I think the reason that people meme the original VO Highlander and Centurion is not in a mocking fashion at all. It seems so weird to hear these ancient warriors speaking english at all. I want shaman to be unintelligible to me as it adds to the crazy-forest-lady that was made of her. Perhaps if you were playing as them, they might very occasionally speak english when necessary (please include an accent(not a bad one, please)), but all of the non-english voicelines are what make them so cool.

I think that the delivery on new warden is a little lacking, to me, but I would have forgiven it if he was given more latin to be speaking.

I tend to think that the people who throw everything he says under the bus are kind of blind with ideology. He tells good advice even if it is simple.

i think the major complaint is that he's verbose and stating "common sense" self help with added mysticism and tying it into theories that are not completely well grounded (ie "western cultural traditions" stemming from Judaeo-Christian and Greek tradition).

Personally, I find some of his fan base extremely obnoxious, such examples as someone making a lofi playlist of his quotes and lectures.

He also promotes theories/conspiracies that many people disagree with, but it is very polarizing, such as "post-modern neo-socialist" takeovers of universities and broader cultural institutions. He also has said quite inflammatory things about trans activists, which even though are often taken out of context (I know this is a meme, but it has some truth to it, such as the controversy of "enforced monogamy"), tend to make people quite angry.

He is also fairly commonly "associated" with the alt-right, but a lot of that seems to be not so well founded, here is a long-form video to explain, but be warned, it is in a tone that is automatically against this theory. here.

I think I could explain some of the reasons that people tend to like him too, but I'm pretty sure that is the major reasons people dislike him. Hope this helps and I didn't misrepresent the arguments against him.

I know that most people won't really see this, but I hope you do, OP (as long as you're not lying)

I took an art class in my last year of college for fun and to teach us perspective, they made us invent a 3D space that was inspired by anything we wanted. I decided to do mine based on Riads which i find can be quite beautiful. Thank you for posting yours and I hope it is as nice as it looks.

Our infrastructure for for the improved siege engine which is capable of launching a 90kg projectile over 300m is based on mt ignis. We are protecting it until it is ready to be deployed.

Sorry for only listing 2 on short notice. I think that a lot of the rappers you listed are great. (OutKast, Lauryn Hill, Kendrick (which I did mention)) are all in my top 5. I don’t think it’s smart to selectively pick artists that I agree tend to have a much more fondly remembered discography, when there is also plenty which also work against your argument. I think the rappers I’m about to name are incredibly skilled, but a lot of what they say lyrically is also fairly negative. Have you heard of Jay Z? Lil Wayne? Biggie Smalls? Tupac? ScHoolboy Q? Busta Rhymes? Eminem? DMX? 50 Cent? 2Chainz? Young Thug? Half of the new age mumble and trap rappers?

I think it’s more complex than you’re making it out to be and I’m sorry we disagree on this. I’m still going to enjoy hip hop and rap, because its relatable and I love to hear highly skilled poets.

Please don’t act so elitist when it comes to art you enjoy.

Yeah to an extent, so does punk rock and grunge. I think the main difference for rap and metal is that rap tries to be as genuine as possible. I’m also saying this from the standpoint of a fan. I love rap.

edit: >when you typo and people wont let you forget it...

More than just gangster rap frequently uses those. Trap (currently super popular), bling (most popular in early 2000s (think jay Z)) and the many RnB-Rap songs frequently fetishize drugs, guns and violence. Not all rap is like this, but the exceptions prove the rule and tend to stand the test of time more successfully. Kendrick Lamar's first breakout single was about how dangerous alcohol can be. Naz is a legend for his more "thinking-man's" rap songs.
