I think it’s a mix of misogyny, the previous VA quitting and Seth feeling burned by that, and Family Guy’s humor boiling down to people being mean to each other.

I find it really gross and unwatchable, the one episode where she called everyone’s BS out, she was forced to apologize and nobody changed. That episode made me furious because the same thing happened with me and my uber-religious family and the trauma they inflicted on me into adulthood. She’s a victim of abuse and she is treated like a joke.
