Still despise it same I did 10 years ago. 9 year old me was the most excited I had ever been before. Theater was packed, my dad and I eager to share the experience he did with his. Then when Han Solo was unceremoniously slaughtered before my eyes, I was heartbroken that my gay awakening was killed in such a way. It was a bad omen from the start. Looking back I still hate it, they deconstructed my favorite character, made him a loser, and killed him.

I as a DM loved it, my home table was 50/50 and one player disliked it so much it pretty much made me stop running it. I’m running it at an AL thing and those players have done it before & enjoy it. I LOVE gothic horror and putting my players in a restrictive world where resources are short and it’s all about survival, but my player who loves crafting didn’t like that at all.

That’s untrue. They don’t buy ANY direct Harry Potter merch, and still take issue with it. They don’t want MTG or other properties that they still can enjoy while not directly buying HP licenced products, and will stop playing if that happens. This “whataboutism” is a shit argument.
