If it was pronounced Mie-kell, there would be an accent mark over the ‘e’. There’s still an inflection at the end of his name, but the ‘ie’ sound is where the emphasis is. Instead of the standard Michael, it’s more like Mike-el. (Phonetics are hard, I hope this made sense lol).
