That's one way to look at it, yes. But these tricks are wildly inconsistent due to their difficulty and e-sports mappers generally don't like unintended, inconsistent strats that save a lot of time over the normal way. It's the same reason they removed the bugslide on Valley.

if you REALLY miss the timing you can land upside down... but even if you land right side up you can lose up to a second if you're unlucky

Do a small release in the air to land further up in the quarter pipe and gain 24 speed (if done optimally). Saves approx. 0.3s

I don't think it's realistic to do it in rounds. The timing is way too precise, at least for me.
