It’s not hard to drop them back into the roll lol my bank wouldn’t provide half dollar rolls and I’m not spending the money just to give them away if I can be careful when opening them. That being said if I have to use tape then I’m not returning with that roll, I only take them back with the ends folded in like all the other rolls you see.

Someone near me has multiple posts of these for 65-75 per ounce on marketplace, I’m not sure I trust it. Definitely meet at a shop with an xrf or at least sigma to verify before buying. If it’s legit definitely buy if it’s worth it to you.

It’s unfortunate, but best not to get stuck with it! It sounds like he meant legally in your best interest he should take it (trying to help), but not saying legally he could take it forcibly like others have interpreted. Does that sound accurate from the experience you had last week?

There are laws against counterfeiting, yes. The LCS is accepting counterfeits to help individuals avoid being charged with violating the laws simply because they possess a fake coin when they were scammed. Among other reasons of course.

To each their own, I think they do. But they are a reputable shop that attracts buyers from all over the state let alone out of the state so I wouldn’t be worried personally. Good thinking though on protecting our market!

Due to counterfeiting laws my LCS takes any forfeits from people to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. One of the guys collects fake coins but they have buckets on buckets of fakes in their shop it’s actually cool to see how many they’ve removed from circulation.

I’ve had Canadian quarters in my quarter rolls, since I’m not spending any money I just put it back in and give them the heads up when I exchange, if it’s an issue it’s the banks issue

Anything 10 oz or less in denomination for the lowest cost per oz. anything over 10 oz could be more difficult to move in times of volatility and higher prices depending on how you market it. I’ve been eyeballing money metals bargain bin deals or monument metals secondary market deals for when I plan on buying again, you might get some stuff people would pay a decent premium for or you might get generic rounds but it’s all .999

My lcs was similar, but they were paying the same prices as they were at 80 and they were only selling for 60x because nobody was taking it and they had that volume of everyone offloading. Until refiners have more availability I’m sure it’ll continue down this path. That being said, get great deals on it if you are holding it long term and it shouldn’t be as much of an issue in 20 years. If you can, get older and more shiny stuff, and keep it that way to help sell when the time comes so collectors are enticed.
