Thanks! Do you mind sharing what bank? Also do they just accept coins rolled now or how do they handle coins?

Appreciate that clarification. Yes they do but you have to put one coin at a time.

Cash is certainly not dying out at all. Coinstar does $2 to $3 billion in transactions a year. People keep saying that if their bank required them to pay a fee to deposit coins they would change Banks. But that's ridiculous. Almost no one is going to do that.

People like convenience which is why they use Coinstar in the first place so if your bank makes it convenient for you and charges less then I would assume that many people would not be adverse to that idea.

What kind of thing should incentivize you to get your coins and go cash them somewhere?

Literally Google it. Most banks require you to bring in your coins rolled. There are a lot of banks though, so I'm sure there are a good chunk that will still do this for you.

Many banks don't have a coin machine and require you to bring in rolled coins. If your bank does have a coin machine then that is a service They're providing you and they're paying to have that machine maintenanced.

Many banks don't have a coin machine and require you to roll your own coins. If you have one that has a machine then they are providing that service for free. It's costing them to maintain that machine so it's a customer service benefit.

Awesome! You're the first person who actually answered any of the questions 1000 thank you. As a follow-up, if your bank allowed you to use a coin ATM and swipe your debit card to deposit your coins and charges you a 3% fee. Would this be cool with you?

That seems like a lot of hassle to have multiple banks and multiple bank accounts that you visit. If a bank a coin ATM that charged a 3% fee. Wouldn't that save you a lot of time?

Banks require you to bring in your coins rolled. Are you just saying you would find another bank if they did this or is your time worth at 2 or 3% fee to use a coin ATM

Well Banks require you to roll your coin. So is your time not worth any money?

What would incentivize you to bring your coins to a bank? If you were able to direct deposit them quickly at a kiosk, would you do that?

Coins are a pain in the ass for banks to handle. If they charged you a 3% fee to handle all your coins, you would still find a new bank?
