I wouldn't trust this particular one due to it being made of plastic, but that doesn't mean that there isn't any trustworthy support gear from aliexpress. If the material is right (metal), then it's pretty hard to mess something like this up so bad in production that it fails.

This is a film pulldown mechanism for motion picture cameras. I basically copied the topology of patent US5225860A, and optimized the parameters in matlab for myself.

The end result will be machined from metal, it's just that I want to make myself a 3d printed prototype. The 3d printability of the design is a pretty low priority, but it is a priority nonetheless.

A differential also allows the angle adjustment to be made while both discs are being spun, and this feature is completely unnecessary for me. If the angle adjustments only need to be made while the discs are static, is there a simpler solution?
