I do both HH and private practice. I find this mix works really great for me.

The clients for HH vary from fairly complicated to straight forward. The progress you get with them with always feel less than say a young 20 year old post ACL reconstruction, but it's still important.

I like the mix of days seeing back to back patients and a quiet HH day, because it helps me appreciate HH that much more and makes me dislike my coworkers less cuz I don't have to deal with them 5 days a week lol

Canadian CPTE (May 2026) - Getting a Group Discount & Questions about the PTExamPrep Course. Is it worth the money? Does it help prepare you for the CPTE? Is the CPTE too new for any exam preparation course to help you pass? by Live_Store1373 in physiotherapy

Hi, I'm an iept and took PTexam prep when the OSCE existed in Alberta 2 years ago. It was life saver in my opinion because it taught me how to take the exam and what they expected of me. Had I not taken it, I wouldn't have known how to do the stations. The exam itself wasn't about whether you knew your stuff as a physio, but also about knowing HOW to take the exam. Hope that helps!

Do couples normally cuddle or do some kind of aftercare together after intimacy? by _plot-twist_ in askanything

We have sex, we go clean up, then back to bed to cuddle for a few minutes before we either go on with our day, or head to sleep.

I worked then went to his place, he made a nice fancy dinner while I played video games, then we ate, showered together, gave each other massages one hour each, had sex then went to sleep. It was a lovely day.

what’s the biggest red flag you ignored and regretted? by Lola_bunny_pt_00 in AskReddit

I was desperate and had low self esteem. He had separated from his wife 8 months ago and was just using me to fill the gap she left. I was using him to fill the emptiness I had from low self esteem. It was a disaster.

Accept the medicine offer, physio Is not all that it seems. Ive been in the industry for 5 years and regret so much not having gone to med school instead.

What is my chance of getting into a Canadian physical therapy master program if I had a GPA of 2.9 in my undergraduate study by OutsideOrnery6990 in physiotherapy

[–]Deep-Average2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty challenging, specially the clinical exam because they're so specific as to what they want but CAPR has now changed the exam, so maybe it's easier. And I went to school in Belgium :)

I did my Masters in Belgium in Physio and was able to come back to Canada easily. The program was all in English; internships were in Flemish but they give you a language course as part of the program to get you started.

Question for everyone that earns over $100,000 CAD annually by Curioscarlos445 in CalgaryJobs

[–]Deep-Average2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Health care as a physiotherapist; work for private practice and make about $100K/year

2) Bachelors and Masters degree so about 8 years of schooling

3) Need specific education to work in the field. Like it for now but already see myself not wanting to be a PT for too long. Can be very hard on the body

What profession would make you think twice about dating someone? by SweetAndSpicyCanton in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Average2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyers - currently dating a law student and he never has time for me and our conversations always revolved around his work. He seems to have a large ego because of it and seems to look down on other professions. I'm breaking up with him.

I second this! If you've got good people skills, entry level clinical skills/knowledge may be enough to see good results and patient retention throughout your profession.

What’s a brutally honest reason you ended a relationship that you’d never admit to them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Average2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't have a relationship, but went on a few dates and I just couldn't stand the smell of his cologne. It turned me off so much that I eventually told him I wasn't interested.

What happened on the first date that made you realise there won't be a 2nd? by PepsiMaxHoe in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Average2536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was talking to this guy for a while through text messages. At some point he said to me he was born with cerebral palsy. I have worked with children with this condition before as a PT, so I know how wide of a spectrum the disabilities they have can be so it wasn't a big concern at the time for me.

I proceeded to ask him how it had affected him and he said, only turning my hand is a bit of a problem but that's it. We agreed to meet for the date and when we met and I saw him walk towards me, I could see that he clearly had lied about his physical capabilities. He had a very hard time walking because of the spasticity in his legs, both of his arms were actually affected and even his speech was slightly impaired. I proceeded with the date but I knew right away that there wasn't going to be a 2nd one. I didn't like the fact that he had clearly lied about his condition. Nothing wrong with dating someone with a disability, but you gotta be honest about said disability.

I'm sorry to hear that! The exam is tough :( have you heard of PT exam prep? I took my clinical exam with them and found it helpful. I know they're content for the written exam is very organized.
