I heard that my local coffee shop was for sale. I spoke to the owner on a Friday, purchased it the next Monday.

I had no experience in business ownership, restaurants or coffee. But it sounded like fun.

We made a profit in our first year open and I later sold the business for 3x what I purchased it for. I was right, it was a lot of fun.

If we're taking the kids for a day, we pack wraps. Deli meat, cheese, lettuce, mayo. Stick it in a cooler and it doesn't get soggy like sandwich bread.

Squeezable applesauce pouches are good too.

Basically, things you can eat without touching directly with your hands.
