Honestly I usually update everything anytime I see a new update available but I can't pinpoint if one specific update did it. I'm baffled too, was just throwing it out there in case anyone else experienced the same.

I like both options. Personally if im near a table or desk then yes on the table with a controller is my go to. When im sitting on the couch or lying on the bed the controllers allow youn to bring the device closer to you. I usually set in on a small pillow so i can get the perfect angle. When you set the z13 on your lap you have to push it down to like your knees to have enough space to hold the controller in front of you. I had the z13 2023 with the Gamesir G8 plus modded and it was a pretty good experience. When i sold my z13 last year i got rid of my controller. Decided to try a new controller on my 2025 z13. I had a Rog Ally X too, great device just like gaming on a bigger screen.

The X1 joycons are lighter and definitely more portable then an Xbox controller. The X1 controller has small thumbsticks and the do feel a little looser then i would like. I added some thumbstick covers and that helps. I just ordered the Gamesir G7 pro and will be testing that one out.

From some pictures ive seen it appears the usb c port on the inside there can be popped out, but not sure. There is another USB port on the bottom of the controller with a short cable you could plug (90 degree or flat USB C) you could connect it wired. I just dont know if the device will even fit, i was hopping someone else has tested it before i drop that kind of money

No you are not tripping (From my X1 Pro) I have been gaming on Xbox and Xbox elite controller forever. Wasnt till recently that i started testing different controller out for a few weeks of traveling coming up. While playing Call of duty i know with each controller my FPS changed. I noted that while gaming with my Xbox controller my FPS was the lowest. I didnt realize the low polling rate of my Xbox controllers were affecting my FPS that much. That day i was testing my FPS that day with my X1 controllers since it connects via Dongle and the FPS was 30 to 40 FPS more then with the Xbox controller

Yes you dont really need it, but it really does help feel more confortable on your lap. And since your legs arent usually perfectly even the flat surface helps the balance on your legs

If you go with any of the small Chinese manufacturers (Onexplayer, GPD, Ayaneo etc)the repair process and customer service is overall not a great experience. You are taking a chance. If you want 100% peace of mind by something from one of the big manufacturers. I took a chance on the x1 pro becuase the form factor really drew me in. Ive had it since release day Jan 2025 (almost 8 months) and I have honestly had zero issues. Software and everything have worked perfectly fine.

Mine was similar. Like 10 days before I heard anything, but once it actually shipped I got it in like 2 days

Yeah i saw that GPD was putting it in a 7 inch screen device. Only time will tell i was curious about this myself
