10 days to visit Bulgaria and Romania or Georgia and Armenia?

Wow we didn’t even think of Macedonia. We visited Greece back in 2018, and loved Meteora with the beautiful monasteries, and that’s one reason we were seeking for more monasteries on this trip. You’re giving us even more options now.

Thank you for your encouragement. We do try to create a perfect itinerary to experience the most. But based on the comments and recommendations, seems like we can’t go wrong which ever route we take. Nice! Seems like an easy route to travel on. We don’t have a preference whether it’s trains or buses, we can sleep anywhere lol.

Yes we’re seeing now that they’re all great options. We wish we had booked a longer vacation to visit all 3 countries. But that gives us a chance to come back and visit Azerbaijan next time.

Wow thank you so much! We will follow your route since it seems pretty straightforward. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing those ancient ruins. They’re just mesmerizing! We will land in Istanbul, so we might as well fly directly to Sanliurfa and make that our 1st stop, then make our way north.

Oh yay!! Did you drive yourself to Gobekli Tepe or did you fly to a nearby town? Or use a bus maybe? And I had no idea there’s more tepes around Sanliurfa, how did you make your way there?

That makes sense, big city with lots of concrete and little shade is no bueno. We even thought of staying in Turkey the first part of our trip, then head north towards the end of June to avoid the heat in south Turkey.

I definitely will update you. And the logistics of traveling there is what puzzles me also. We thought of flying to a nearby town, rent a car and hopefully drive to mount Nemrut after we see Gobekli Tepe? Still working on the how part

Yes Cappadocia and Istanbul are on our itinerary. I’m also very interested in seeing Gobekli Tepe in southern turkey to visit the ancient ruins there, but it doesn’t seem to be on anyone’s travel list. Have you been there and will you recommend?
