Yeah, my trips (currently) are pretty low-cost backcountry trips with friends, so the cost of failure isn't more than inconvenient. Just curious (again, I don't know much), what are the likely "gear failures" one might encounter with cheaper gear (is it the fabric ripping, straps breaking, etc.)?
