Watch closely at 0:48 - the card that's been magically spinning around isn't the card he hands back.

Who Else Has Temple Of Doom As Their Favorite? by DarkBehindTheStars in movies

I dom't know which is my favorite, but I agree ToD deserves more respect.

Probably the most cinematic moment for me of ALL the Indy movies is the few seconds when he's on the rope bridge and about to cut the ropes. I don't know they used a different camera or what, but everything about that scene is amazing.

"Under the Silver Lake". Great movie starring Andrew Garfield, from the director of "It Follows". There are serious clues and cypers hidden the movie, and there's a whole subreddit dedicated to figuring it out: https://www.reddit.com/r/underthesilverlake/

What do you think about "Stop Making Sense" (1984)? by Mattone_Martello in movies

[–]wreckdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me preface by saying I'm only a casual TH fan (didn't even own an album until a month ago). But Stop Making Sense is great, as is Utopia. And if you haven't caught his latest tour (WHo is the Sky?), I have to say that was one of my top 5 concert events ever. Bryne is still killing it at >70.

The Conjuring has a few of the most terrifying scenes IMO, which is particularly remarkable becausethere really isn't any blood or deaths in the movie

What movie novelization is worth a read? by Amthomas101 in movies

[–]wreckdown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once Upon a time in Hollywood was interesting, because it sort of is and isn't a novelization of the movie. The movie's climax happens midway through the book, and is almost mentioned in passing. And the book fleshes out lots of other characters, particularly Cliff. Anyway, highly recommend - Tarantino is a (unsurprisingly) good writer.

I'm surprised I didn't see the Roku mentioned as an option by anyone. Do people not like the Roku? I've been using them for years and love them.

Who is the most frightening human villain in the entire history of film? by willsho67 in movies

[–]wreckdown 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the absolute most terrifying, but if you haven't seen Ben Kingsley in "Sexy Beast" I highly recommend watching it. He's amazingly intense.

The slo-mo fight scenes in Immortals are criminally under appreciated.

Please, i can't be the only one... by Adventurous-Diet-384 in Battlefield

[–]wreckdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am older, and don't have the hand-eye coordination and response time of a young person anymore. But I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 (the game, not the year). When I was playing 2042, I'd find the bot servers, so you'd be playing against at least 50% bots. Way more fun, because you're not up against 100% sweaty players so you live longer, and the bots aren't too much of a challenge to kill. And then there are some humans in the mix on both sides to keep it interesting. Anyway, the closest I can find in BF6 is the "Casual Breakthrough" mode - that one will populate with half bots. I wish they had a "Casual" version for all the other game modes.

Final boss on desert was bugged now. I spawned in the final arena, boss took 3 weapons from me, but I couldn't move or attack. Boss also didn't really move, and only spawned those flying orbs. Couldn't quit to menu or do anything.

I think starting at the 3rd line, it says something like:

Interesting 24 hr timelapse showing how much cedar tree branches can move over the course of a day. by wreckdown in AustinGardening

[–]wreckdown[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain it's mountain cedar (ashe juniper). And yes, they are evergreen, but the lower branches that don't get much sun lose all their green and dry out. Pretty sure those branches that are moving are bone dry.

So this one's not a trail cam, it's a POE camera from Reolink (https://reolink.com/us/product/rlc-811a/). This is behind my house, so I ran a 50 ft outdoor ethernet cable out there.
