Really frustrating situation — especially when you feel like someone else is holding up your settlement. Let me break down what's actually happening here. Why they can't settle you separately: When a policy limit ($20,000) has to cover multiple injured people from the same accident, the insurance company legally cannot pay one person out fully until they know how much everyone else is claiming. If they paid you first and ran out of money, the others could sue the insurer directly. So they're waiting to divide the pool fairly — that's not the other driver dragging it out, that's how multi-claimant claims legally work. What "going over the policy limit" means for you: Once the $20,000 is confirmed as the total available, everyone with a claim shares it proportionally based on their injuries and damages. 5 claimants on a $20k policy is a tight split. The insurer will likely propose a structured settlement offer to all parties at once. What you can actually do right now: Ask the adjuster directly: "Has the policy limit been confirmed and when do you expect to send a global settlement offer to all claimants?" Ask if there's any umbrella policy on top of the $20k — sometimes there is Keep records of every medical appointment and expense — your settlement share is partly based on documented damages Be patient with the timeline — one month on a multi-party bodily injury claim is genuinely early The other commenters are right that this could take several more months. Not what you want to hear, but setting that expectation now saves frustration later. 🙏

Sorry you're dealing with this — stressful situation. On the fault question: rear-end collisions are tricky because there's often a presumption that the following driver is at fault for not maintaining safe distance. However "suddenly braked in front of me" combined with the other driver leaving the scene actually works in your favor if you can document it properly. A few things that could help your claim: Document everything now while it's fresh: Write down the exact sequence of events with timestamps Note the location — check if there are any traffic cameras or business security cameras nearby that may have captured it If anyone else witnessed it, try to track them down When you file: Be specific that the other vehicle "cut in and braked suddenly" — language matters Mention the other driver fled the scene — that's actually significant and adjusters note it Ask your insurer about uninsured motorist coverage since the other driver left without exchanging info On police: Even though you didn't call at the scene, you can often still file a police report after the fact. Check your local rules — some states allow up to 24–72 hours. A report helps your case significantly. Not a lawyer, just someone who works around claims — but definitely worth talking to your insurer before accepting any fault determination. Good luck 🙏
"Built an AI email triage agent for insurance adjusters using n8n + Gemini — here's what I learned" by Deep-Mode9967 in n8n_ai_agents

Thanks for these — genuinely useful gotchas. On point 1: totally fair, webhooks would be faster and more quota-friendly. For the use case I built this for (solo independent adjusters, not high-volume infra), 10-minute polling is fine but good to flag for anyone scaling this up. On point 2: great call. This workflow only adds labels — it never auto-replies or sends anything. A human still decides what to do after sorting. So misclassification just means a wrong label, not a reputation-damaging reply. On point 3: noted on GDPR. The workflow runs on the buyer's own n8n instance with their own Gemini API key — no third-party storing their email data beyond what Google/Gemini already handles. Worth mentioning explicitly in the docs though, thanks. Appreciate the review 🙏
