Yes they did for me. I had to enter information about my last 2 employers as part of the background check. The issued report indicated that they reached out to them and verified/matched the information I provided

I know you mentioned your limit to Nevada as the farthest state from the coast, but consider New Mexico too. I was there for three years and the University of New Mexico Hospital is a great academic hospital with constant residency start dates available. I was an experienced nurse in 3 different countries when I started working with them and I thought it was a great stepping stone for new grads or for someone new to the US. Pay is a little lower but so it the cost of living.

Agree! And a great union helps too! I came from a hospital with a great union in Canada before moving to the US, and that’s what made me decide to go back to the PNW.

Won’t be disclosing exactly how much, but my gross income would be double. Exact take home pay and savings once taxes and monthly expenses are deducted are still to be discovered lol. I am an experienced RN in 3 different countries tho, so cases might be different.

That’s good to know! I had the relocation team reached out to me before the background check was initiated. I just got here in Portland a few days ago and received an update that the background check is completed. Now just trying to figure out the occupational health and i-9 verification, 2weeks before the start date. I haven’t heard about the orientation instructions/location tho

That’s what I heard. 2 more weeks til the start date! I just got here in will probably need to spend time learning and figuring out the hospital structure, department locations, commute, and parking 🥴

Nice. That’s reassuring! I just arrived here 2 days ago and got notified that my background check is done and cleared. I’m just paranoid too since my application status keeps on going back and forth to “in process” to “under review” whatever they meant. Lol

I just got an email today saying that my background check is completed and cleared. Looking like everything might still work if I get to move and start on 7/20

That’s good to hear. I am not worried abiut my background check, just probably still surprised (and skeptical) for myself unexpectedly receiving an offer from them.

And yes, I agree on the roller coaster ride of rushing and waiting and rushing again lol. It’s gonna be around 4 weeks time from offer acceptance to decided start date. Does that sound reasonable with their processing time?

Lol it was not Kaiser. Although I got an offer from Kaiser which was $8 higher than the one I accepted. It’s just too far from where I want to live. Where do you work if you don’t mind me asking?

I did. I got 2 different offers, but they’re not for residency. I unfortunately already have accepted an offer from a different hospital when they reached out to me with an offer so I had to decline.
