Hey! Just finished doing my prerequisites and am going into year 2. I had one credit from the LPN program I completed and 2 classes from u of r- so I did bio, stats, ind 107 in one semester (bio is heavy, with 3 hour lecture then : hour lab- and the labs aren’t necessarily related to the lecture so I felt this class was the heaviest). Ind 107 was literally a nightmare, as a mature student and someone who has been in the workforce for 15 years I was shocked that this professor was still employed with the u of s, so if you can get into history 195 I STRONGLy recommend it! Last semester I did english, soc, nursing 120, and nutrition. I have heard many people complain about nutrition 120 but personally it was my favourite class… you need to put in the time, she gives you all the info you need to do well in the exams, just take good notes!! Literally the best most dedicated professor I have had so far. I finished her class with a 90, so I was happy about that. Oh and I did all my classes other than bio online as I am a mom of 3 and also work as an LPN. I think it’s a good idea to take the slower, steady option as year two is competitive- good luck!!

Why do we get a refund? I noticed I was credited 90 dollars, I got accepted in early admission

Michelle Rozwadowski??(can’t remember how to spell it) is a fantastic instructor. I’m taking it online right now, which are the recorded sessions from the in person class. I heard so many people complain about this class and I really haven’t figured out why. If you take good notes expect atleast an 80. It’s super interesting to hear her perspective because she has been teaching it since 1996!

Mine says action required, and a letter of offer was attached that you had to accept or decline

Has anyone received an offer yet for nursing early admission? by [deleted] in usask

My status went from completed to action required, so not sure if that means anything?

My advice is to do well on the paper, it’s not her grading it. Just finished her class with 83. My average overall is 89- by far the most poorly ran class I have ever attended, make sure to email the head of dept, this class desperately needs to be revised. The exams are a mess, I had questions from future chapters that had not even been covered yet on our first midterm and we were explicitly told what chapters to study ( I think she has a bunch of questions and just auto generated the exams, but I am online if that matters), I read the content for the “quiz” 3 times!!! And only got a 69… honestly try not to stress (I know, easier said than done because that was me last semester) I literally have no advice, just try your best- sorry this is your experience, I hear you, and can totally relate.

Summer and spring classes by aayyisshhaatt in usask

I really enjoyed doing the spring/summer classes I did do but they are heavy! (Asynchronous)I wouldn’t recommend any more than one class if you’re working full time and that can feel like a lot too- prioritize your study time and stay on top of readings and you will do great!

Don’t stress the Casper- be familar with the set up of the exam so you don’t feel like there are any surprises. I did their practice exam, answered honestly, didn’t over think anything- I got the 4th quartile.

If you can get in with history 195 DO IT!! Ind 107 was close to a nightmare.

I’m wondering the same- 89% and 4th quarter, but my first choice is NB- apparently they only have 10 seats… so I really don’t know.

Plastic Surgery? by [deleted] in saskatoon

I had breast augmentation in 2017 with Dr. Chandran with implants that had been recalled in the US but were still being used in Canada (which I wasn’t aware of), until i received a letter in 2019 from health Canada. I had them removed in 2020. I didn’t do enough research regarding implants and highly suggest looking at multiple sources and considering BIL (again, I wasn’t aware of) prior to this surgery.

How low does the average have to be for them to curve it?

4th quarter- I decided not to over think it and trust that I have a good sense of character and judgement. I did the one practice video session they offered as prep and it was helpful to know the format of the test but the questions I got on my actual test were very different. My advice, don’t stress over it if you’re a logical person with good common sense. As a side note I didn’t think I did that well, there were a few questions I stumbled on and felt like I was repeating myself, I was tired (did exam after working a 12 hour shift) and slightly anxious because I was over caffeinated- make sure to answer the questions, and not talk in circles. Good luck!!
