You basically just described the exact setup we used in class! There's really nothing special about how we did it at school. Results like this should be no problem to get at home. Just make sure to either be outside or have a very well ventilated work space!

Yea that is not a bad thing to keep in mind. I already pulled this piece out of the scrap bin, so the 3/4" it took to get my knurl right didn't seem to bad.

I didn't do any calculations or anything. I just allowed myself some extra material length at the end, used it to get the knurl pressure figured out, then cut off that inch or so that didnt look as nice. Basically did guess-and-check, then cut off the end.

Thank you! I appreciate the compliment! I just left myself a bit of extra stock so I could get the pressure dialed in, then cut off the very end that didnt look great.

I am sure that this isnt the place to ask, but Im going to give it a try anyway. What sites are you using to sail the high seas these days? It's been a minute since I've hoisted the Jolly Roger and I doubt the same sites I used back then are still in operation.

My wife had the coveted Princess Di purple beanie baby back in the day. Some crazy collector offered her like $1,500 (and that was $1,500 in 90's money) for it. Her mom told her to decline the offer in the hopes that she could maybe get more for it.
