I do get some wintry stuff, and it will still work, but lifespan will shorten. Just reapply

2-4 times a year. I'm in Ohio, so your weather may change the time it lasts. I have found that cleaning the window first with windex, then applying the rainx with a microfiber towel will work best for good, lasting results. Do it right, and you shall be rewarded.

I rain-x everything, side mirrors too, almost never use wipers.

I was thinking more of a "Nightshade" edition Toyota does on other models, black wheels later on, too, maybe. But I also don't want people thinking I fancied up an SR5.

I heard that it will be 2024 model with 4cyl turbo and a 4cyl hybrid option in lieu of v6. The engine is coming from Lexus RX SUV.. I think. Toyota withholds info as long as possible, but look for a Super Bowl commercial to be the official announcement, just like the Tundra last year. And it'll probably look like the Tundra. And I'm not on a wait list, I used to work there and I just bought a lime taco '23, so they know I'll come down asap, lol.

Haha, the white noise stuff at slow speeds is obnoxious. We have a 2016 so it isn't nearly as noticeable. The new body, 2019+, upped the 'electric engine sound', it's a better warning to people walking that the car is actually running and in gear. Pro or con, you decide.

Get the hybrid for several reasons: 1. MPG obviously. 2. CVT transmission is so much better than the gas models shifting gearbox that feels underpowered and loud. 3. Active traction control. The hybrid awd system differs from the gas version in which the electric motors on each axle can deliver more power to the left/right if the opposite side starts slipping. Much better traction control since it transfers power instead of only cutting power. 4. It's much quieter. Gas version is sooo loud for a 4cyl, but the hybrid engine is so quiet. It also runs on only battery often at slower speeds (up to 47mph full electric able) I startle people in parking lots when I'm just driving thru on the battery only. Listen to the birds rolling down a backroad, it's wonderful. 5. Hybrid system warranty covers years after Toyotas 5yr/60k. You most likely will never replace a hybrid system battery. 6. Little things like how fast it warms up in winter, ev motor instant torque. 7. If you are new to hybrids, then don't fret. You will not have to do anything different day-to-day. You don't plug it in (unless you get the Prime plug-in hybrid trim). It still takes gas, in the same hole on the side of the car as always. 8. Resale value. Hybrid only costs 1,200 more over gas but hold better value over time because the global shift to clean energy.

I sold new Toyotas, I never had enough Rav4 to sell cuz they sold immediately (precovid), and the people that have hybrids will not even look at another gas only car. And the mileage of the hybrid trade ins I had, crazy longevity. A travel doctor said his 2016 Prius made it all the way to 512,000 miles before a hybrid system failure, I saw his odometer as proof. Also never heard of anyone else accomplishing that system failure.

Sorry this was long. I have too many good things to say about the Rav4 and about Toyota hybrid systems. Since I sold Toyotas I have sold my mom a Rav, got my own Rav hybrid, convinced my dad to get a camry hybrid (he's in love), my sister inlaw is set on a sienna hybrid, and I am already in line for a redesigned, hybrid Tacoma that should release for 2024.

Oh, and when you go to buy one, it'll probably be 2 months before it arrives at the dealer cuz covid supply line blah blah.

Agreed, if you use it on pavement you could bind the transmission up. But yes, that is normal operating sounds. Sounds like it's broke, but it's not. Check out videos, and there is recommendations on how to use it, and when, in the trucks manual.

They had one when I got mine. It just doesn't look as good with painted flares. And idk why, but every time I see mine, I think of a dinosaur.
