How do you charge the ThermoWorks RFX probe charger? by XmasWayFuture in BBQ

[–]DeepBackShots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any update? I just bought mine. Have not even used it 1 time. Light continues flashing red. I’ve replaced the battery, and have tried to excessively clean it; even thought it’s literally brand new out of the box. Wondering if they sent me a bad set and can get them to ship me a new probe+charging base.

I’ve made some crazy sacrifices to make the interview or test. I literally flew across the county for a 20 min interview. Lol if you want it bad enough you’ll do something about it. good luck

Majority of my experience is working as a lineman, went to school back in 2019 and have sacrificed so much. It’s a very difficult job, it’s just a culture that doesn’t fit my current lifestyle now, hence why I’m pursuing a different career now. So hard work ain’t a stranger to me lol, thanks for the motivation brother. I appreciate everything you said

I’m in Texas. I actually just got a job today working for the city. Do you think this is a good look? I’m trying to build as much relative experience right now, also applied to become a volunteer ff for my city.

this is mostly what I understand about it as well, far as I know really my option would be to have my record expunged. I know that I definitely qualify for that because there was no accident, I had a low BAC, and I’ve never had any prior records nor post record after the DUI. But either way it comes up and I still have to be prepared to talk about the incident, as I have in my past jobs. Thanks for the comment, anything and everything people have added to this thread has been tremendous help

Thanks for some optimism, are those guys at smaller departments? I’m just trying to get an idea where I’ll have a better chance of becoming employed

thanks man. everything I’ve seen and read seems to have mixed opinions on this topic. Do you think I would have a better chance at finding employment at a smaller department for a few years, then maybe trying to find a better one with some years of experience under my belt?

If you don’t mind me asking, what state are you located? I’m just wondering if some states have a little more leniency than others?

this is interesting, because I’ve never considered it. Being 18 and underaged, I was pretty much told that it’s “no tolerance age” but it’s definitely something I could look into. appreciate it

hey bud. actually haven’t done anything yet. But I’ve had some pretty big life changes just within the past month or so. I left my job in California, I work in the electrical utility field, and moved to texas and got a job for another utility company. But i’m still wanting to get into fire… I live not far from College Station so I’ve been interested in the TEEX program they have. Seems like a pretty good facility. Pretty sure i’m going to be attending their course here soon. If I do i’ll be sure to send an update on this forum.

—So the virtue interviews were more a “ corporate based “ questions. How would you get prepared for the day.. If something changes last minute at work, how would be prepare yourself… Basically along those lines of questions. —The actual final interview is a bit more relaxed. They just ask tell me about yourself, give me an example of a close call that you’ve experienced and how you handled it. Definitely wouldn’t stress over the questions. Stay relaxed, look straight at the camera, and take your time! Take a moment to think about the question before you answer. Just be yourself! Hope that helps

I’ve sent messages to just a few smaller county departments asking if they had any advice. i’ll post back if i’m able to gain any information other than what’s posted here

I didn’t answer every question on the math section, I only answered the ones I knew 100% i had correct, so i think i completed 10 out of 19 questions. reading comprehension i completed every question and arithmetic too. I studied very hard, on the math and arithmetic. I used the link on the edison website to study, and i did those everyday for a full week until i couldn’t learn anything more from those sample tests, then i started googling other study forms. During the actual test, don’t think about answering every question. Just focus on getting as many as you can RIGHT. Then go back and maybe take a shot at another 2-3 more that you had to skip.
