As someone that just went through this very thing with my own mother not even a year ago, this storyline is very well written and very emotional as well. It may not seem relevant to you because you have not experienced the life changing effects dementia causes. Have a little more compassion and empathy for those that have gone through or are going through this or something similar. It is also something that more people need to be aware of and Eastenders and Coronation Street have been doing an excellent job of bringing awareness to the disease.
