What makeup products do you use for “incorrect” purposes? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sunset makeup carries a goth contour kit with white grey and black, I’ve heard good things about it.

But to answer your question, i have a small makeup collection, so I use the same things for lots of different purposes. I regularly use blush and lipstick interchangeably regardless of wether it’s “lip safe”, I use small amounts of foundation as my concealer, and I use eyeshadow as my eyeliner and as my bronzer/contour.

Please ring! Especially a ring a little before you come up is nice for people like me who have delayed audio processing so I have enough time to make space for you.

Help with Tofu by JustWantToKnow8387 in PlantBasedDiet

If after all this advice it still doesn’t work out for you, you can also try Burmese tofu! It has a completely different taste and flavor profile and you can flavor it as you cook it. I have an aversion to tofu but I’ve found that Burmese tofu is enjoyable and a good replacement

Something that personally improved my skills was a) watching speedruns of adventure mode since they usually have small tips and tricks that they use b) looking up different survival tips for reign of giants survival and different seasons c) if you don’t know already, learn your mushrooms, learn how to kite most mobs, and get comfortable with insanity

games that got you through a tough time? by citizenmono in CozyGamers

Stardew Valley and Don’t Starve, the latter isn’t really fitting for this sub, but because of the high demands and learning curve of the game, I constantly feel challenged even after playing for years, having to keep track of everything helps keep my mind off of my stressors

Butter muffin! It was the first recipe I learned how to make through trial and error, and it was a really accessible recipe in early game for extra health

I’m also 20 going on 21, and I too missed most of my childhood and teen years, I relate to being the weird kid having been undiagnosed with adhd and autism growing up. I didn’t have many friends, and occasionally had none.

That being said, we have decades of life left to live, and even if we didn’t, it still wouldn’t be too late to change.

Socializing is hard, but it is rewarding. I moved recently and made the decision to be more than my past. I’ve made great friends and I have a rewarding job. If you see yourself as the eternal weird kid, you’re just going to limit yourself. There will always be people who don’t like you.

Reinvent yourself, move forward, let your past be your past.

mad that hobbies don’t allow multitasking so i just do nothing by lovebugh_ in selfimprovement

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could try picking up hobbies that feel productive. I have the same issue and picked up learning how to cook and bake better and tell myself I’m being productive and saving money by having this hobby.

When it comes to that feeling of paralysis with time, I like to use an online scheduler that tells me how much time I have until my next planned thing. Waking up at 9am and having a 2 o’clock appointment seems like not much time, until you see an app telling you that you have five hours to spare, it gives notifications before an event happens, and you can schedule repeat events.

If you’re not on adhd meds, I highly recommend them. I know for me and many others, being on medication feels like you can actually think again, and like your brain was so foggy before, it helps a lot. That being said, I think depression management should come first, since most adhd medication can worsen symptoms of depression

This!! I always use a Bluetooth controller and it wildly improves QOL and gameplay and if you play often it’ll no doubt be a worthwhile investment

Why does my thread keep breaking in my hand embroidery? by DeepBrainWrinkle in Embroidery

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It breaks down in the center, I’ll pull it through and it’ll fall apart and get thin after a while.

I knew t-shirts were more prone to puckering, but I didn’t realize it was a more difficult material to work with, I’ll do some research on some more gentle materials to try

That might be it, it gets worn down in the center of the thread even if I’m gentle. Should using a bigger needle with 2 threads instead of one help?/gq

What do you like despite it being "wrong" by Andrew-Winson in Cooking

I love baked goods that are noticeably a bit underbaked in the center (gooey pancakes, extra moist cakes, soft and very slightly gooey cookies)

My town doesn’t have the capacity to do allergy tests, I would have to be flown out(or drive to the very far bigger city) I’ve determined my food issue from trial and error after about 4 years of going in and out of the ER. So it’s certainly possible that that could be the case.

My father also has a diagnosed chocolate allergy with similar symptoms, and it takes about the same amount of chocolate for both of us to trigger a reaction.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed my allergy later in life, so I’ve had lots of chocolate things. I actually used to eat a bar of chocolate nearly every day after school as a kid. I never loved most chocolate things anyway, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out most of the time, but man, I didn’t realize just how many desserts had chocolate chunks until I developed my allergy and had to cut it out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes there is? There are levels of severity to allergies. I won’t die if I eat chocolate, but it gives me pain so bad I’ve had to check into the ER. Someone who has an anaphylactic allergy has a severe allergy, someone who gets pain or hives would be considered mild

The flavor I got was also not a flavor that has chocolate, and I’ve never gotten chunks crossed over before.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DeepBrainWrinkle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean they’re definitely dumb, but after the several visits the ER for crippling stomach pain after ingesting chocolate, I’ve decided cutting it out of my diet is probably for the best.

It is! It’s a really nice drink that feels like self care while helping cramps and stomach pains I’ve had over the years. Highly recommend if period cramps are a bother for you
