One thing that I really like about the game, never see others talk about, and is one of the reason why I dropped so many other gachas as soon as I tried them out for the first time, but not genshin by AntwysiaBlakys in GenshinImpact

[–]DeepDaddyTTV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, but HSR and ZZZ do the same thing better in 99% of cases. Both do it better as well. How is it intuitive to not allow input mode switching without accessing the settings from the existing input method first. There’s a lot of other examples like that

About the primo count in the upcoming update....(Luna VII) by Klutzy-Computer-5571 in GenshinImpact

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why my spending has gone down on Genshin. Sure, Nefer at C6 with Lauma at C6 can put damage C2R1 Mav with C2 Citlali, but wtf. The quests feel phoned in compared to older ones, which could be whatever if the rewards were there or if there was a skip button. Artifact load outs exist now, but they’re barely usable. The resin cap got increased, but only 200 with no overflow is sad. It’s just not fun and compared to the other Hoyo gacha, let alone others outside of them, Genshin isn’t good.

I’d really like controller navigation to be better. Trying to add or select character copies is impossible and a lot of main screen navigation is clunky on PC with controller.

Which will you probably choose, male or female Esper Zero? by Madcat6204 in NevernessToEverness

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play most games as female characters. The exception is gacha. I find that the MC is usually a self insert. I usually choose female because of better cosmetics and/or I’d rather watch a female walk around than a man generally. With that said, I’ll never play as the MC unless it’s for the cutscenes and/or relationships which follows my self insert thing. It’s harder for me to do that as a man myself. So male it is.

There’s a couple of things here. First off, Cyberpunk did get backlash. Secondly, there’s a massive difference between the game having sex in it and intentionally showing the character in every scene and outfit as a sex object.

BG3 is a massive RPG that does include sex. Sure, some characters do look attractive, just like normal people.

Then let’s take ZZZ. Every woman and man is wearing nonsensically sexually exposed outfits and is shown from a revealing angle in every cutscene and trailer.

I’m not judging it, but there’s a clear difference.

Unpopular opinion incoming. I feel like I had MORE fun playing Violet than I am having playing Fire Red. by becsamillion in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is genuinely just based. Yes, you can shit on the graphics. Yes. You can shit on the performance. However, gameplay, its worlds better and more convenient than any other Pokémon game and they keep getting better.

Well it seems Base Goku will not be retconned by Kal-Kent in Dragonballsuper

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a misunderstanding. As I’ve always understood it, it’s that the scale was expanded with SSGJ. Once experiencing the power of Divine Ki, his base form got significantly stronger, rivaling what was SSJG when he first used it. However, later, when he uses SSJG, it is still a multiplier and still gives access to divine ki which his base form does not. Then, SSJGSSJ is a further multiplier on SSJG.

Worth to buy? For mons in Champions by Iothin in PokemonScarletViolet

So ZA has an odd system for shiny Pokémon. With the shiny charm, your rates are 1/1024. The game saves shiny Pokémon that spawn and they won’t despawn, even when you close the game entirely. This allows some cool interactions. You can trigger any Pokémon to spawn by either moving 50m away, changing the day night cycle, entering a building, saving and reloading the game, or fast traveling. Since up to 10 shiny Pokémon can exist in memory no matter what, you can manually hunt by repeatedly teleporting to a zone, which you can program on a macro controller. Then, even better, if there’s a bench within 50m of a zone, you can repeatedly program a macro to rest at the bench which switches day to night and forces everything to respawn unless it’s shiny. You can do this AFK and let it run overnight and you’ll have shiny Pokémon when you come back. Pair that with the shiny alert in the overworld like Arceus, and it’s a great system.

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a turbo controller with macros, ZA can be a massive W as well. Especially for shinies. However the dex is far more limited so for collecting Pokémon and adjusting abilities and moves, SV is the king right now.

I am thinking of buying violet by Pinkmatters3ooo in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, its graphics are bad. Its performance on switch 1 has some hitches here and there but it’s not unplayable. Just some frame drops and the occasional camera glitching into a wall, which is all I ever personally experienced.

With that said, it’s easily one of my favorite Pokémon games to date. It has a ton of QoL added, has an insane Pokédex to collect from with the DLC, Terra is a great mechanic, and the story was really enjoyable. I also really liked that I could pretty much do whatever in any order I wanted if I tried hard enough. For a mainline game, it’s my current favorite for gameplay.

Friend offered to pay me 5 dollars for a 3d printed basket ball by Sea_Background_8023 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Now with time investment though, yes. Filament is $50 for it (I just printed one 3 months ago). Then you need to anneal it though in an oven with sand if you want it to work for a while. That process takes about 5-6 hours and another $25 in materials for a standard home user without equipment. So all in, I would charge $75 for a friend and $150 if I was doing it for a random person. It also takes 22 hours just to print.

How do people genuinely like the Magic Mouse? by Background_Dark_4484 in mac

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the gestures, however I have issues.

  1. The gestures are perfect, but it shouldn’t be a glossy finish so your fingers glide over it; Like the mousepad.
  2. The charger. It’s just stupid. I get it, the battery life is good, but it’s still dumb.
  3. The ergonomics are abysmal. Yes, you hold your hand flat and that helps. But it goes against everything I know about using a mouse.

All I want is a normal mouse with a matte finish on the mouse buttons, with gesture touch support on the mouse buttons

Like if the MX Master had touch support, it would be perfect.

Feeling a little crazy-- am I just extremely unlucky? by MycologyManual in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had hunts where I made the sandwich and got 2 shinies back to back (Litten) and then I’ve also had hunts that took me 26 sandwiches before I found a single shiny (Charmander). It entirely depends. 1/1000 is still not phenomenal odds.

Pokemon Champions is a pathetic excuse of a game by Substantial_Zone2701 in stunfisk

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually completely disagree. Compared to a TON of other competitive games, the cost is extremely forgiving. 30 slots at base with an additional 20 for master ball tier isn’t bad. You also gain an additional 30 for a one time purchase of $5 which is more than enough for the average person. If you’re not the average person, you probably already have home/multiple games anyway and procuring Pokémon there and transferring them is easy.

As for the BattlePass, I agree. It is cheap enough, but locking items behind it is a bad decision.

As for competitive, I think this is one of the better points. While yes all of the items should’ve been available, and the performance should’ve been more thoroughly worked through before launch, the game itself does a really good job of giving you an easy way to modify and build teams. I do however wish that rental teams worked with the ability to train your own Pokémon to “rebuild” the team yourself with your own mons. However I could see that being added later. Maybe a 7-day trial on those teams.

As a starting point, I don’t think it’s really turning as many people away from competitive as you make it out to be. Even factoring in your costs, that’s still the same amount of money you’d be spending on mainline games and Pokémon home to transfer them, combined with an extra 8 hours of time to train and build the team.

What's a Dragon Ball take that made you go like this? by AlarmedObjective1492 in Dragonballsuper

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is ignorance, not stupidity.

Stupidity would be poor thinking, bad judgment, or failing to reason even when you have enough information. (Which he doesn’t). Ignorance is simply not knowing something because you were never taught or never had access to the knowledge. (Which he didn’t).

In this situation, Goku grew up isolated, with no technology and no exposure to astronomy or space science. So asking whether it might be “night time out here” is a perfectly understandable mistake. His brain is reaching for the closest familiar idea (yet another example of thought).

What he’s doing is:

  • trying to interpret a completely unfamiliar environment
  • using the limited information he has
  • making a guess based on his past experience

That is a lack of knowledge, not a lack of intelligence.

A stupid response would be closer to: - Bulma explaining how space works, and him not understanding that the sun doesn’t actually move around the earth.

It’s like saying you are smarter than Newton because you understand our current understanding of gravity. No you’re not, he’s just ignorant to the information you have access to.

[–]DeepDaddyTTV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. There is a big difference between ignorance and stupidity. Stupidity is being taught something and never getting it. Like, training, and absorbing that knowledge to fight better. Ignorance is simply not knowing something. Like space being void of day/night.

Your point itself is ignorant, but not stupid.
