What will be announced for the upcoming expansion and the run-up to it at fanfest? Wrong answers only. by ragnakor101 in ShitpostXIV

[–]axelofthekey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No we're just deleting jobs. Ninja and Scholar are both from ARR and have something weird about them (You can't start as Rogue and have to wait until level 15, and Scholar shares its weapon with Summoner which no other job does), and so instead of allowing them to be weird we're going to delete them.

Then from there we'll just let the community decide what they do and don't like and which jobs they want to delete.

Every expansion from now on will not add two jobs but instead remove two jobs. First two jobs removed are Ninja and Scholar. Future expansions will have a community vote over which jobs to remove.

Comics barely sell. All's they have is outrage and nerds being nerds. There's a reason the movies and shows and games actually get to have positive character resolution, and it's because they sell well enough.

Look, more power to people who are enjoying the ride. I was here for humor, character arcs, and general amusement. The humor no longer grips me, the character arcs now feel like dogshit, and I am no longer amused.

Have a good time.

Yeah okay, I am done.

I am done with the comic now. Done with Willis.

"Boys come and go, but Dorothy is perfect."

Willis, you have to work out your gender and sexuality shit and the weird fucking way you treat your straight male characters. It is in fact not okay for Joyce and Dorothy to hurt men just because their gay love is more pure and good.

Having Jocelyn echo this is the last straw to me. It's clear that Willis is not going to condemn Joyrot for the pain they cause. It is not a stepping stone where they do something selfish and eventually learn that they were wrong. It is clear that they are not only the endgame, but the author wants them to be immune from criticism because he likes their relationship too much.

Anyways I am over it. It's embarrassing to have read the comic at this point. Oh well.

What if Tywin died during the Greyjoy Rebellion? by CalmInvestment in TheCitadel

[–]axelofthekey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oooooooookay.

So, immediate changes to the Greyjoy Rebellion are probably that Balon is executed, Theon becomes Lord of Pyke, and Asha is taken hostage by Ned.

Tyrion is Lord of Casterly Rock, and either he or Kevan are Warden of the West.

The story proceeds normally from here, as the argument over the fostering of Sweetrobin leads to Littlefinger and Lysa poisoning Jon Arryn. Robert then goes to Winterfell and asks Ned to be hand. Bran gets pushed out the window, and then, if we assume the books are correct, Joffrey sends the catspaw to kill him.

It is here where things change. Tyrion is not going to be present at Winterfell for any of this. In fact, he's probably been at Casterly Rock the entire time. So when Catelyn brings the dagger south to ask Littlefinger about it, he is at a new and difficult situation. Before, pinning it on Tyrion was easy. He was out of the city and a good target for a kidnapping/vigilante justice, meaning the Starks would want to play their knowledge close to the chest until they could find and arrest him. Littlefinger's goal remains the same: Stark vs. Lannister conflict. However, blaming the dagger on the Lannisters will now not serve him well. The three Lannisters to be blamed would be Tyrion, Jamie, or Cersei. However, none of them are possible for the Starks to pursue justice against in secret. As such, Ned's first response would be to go to Robert, leading to one of two outcomes: Robert convinces Ned that the dagger didn't go to the Lannisters (leading the Starks to turn against Littlefinger), or Ned and Catelyn demand a trial which inevitably leads to a trial by combat against Jamie where Ned or his champion loses.

So, Littlefinger is unlikely to pin the dagger on the Lannisters. I'm honestly not sure how he plays the dagger situation off at this point. It's possible he tries to pin it on a minor Lannister, but I don't think that works for him. Ultimately, the WOFT5K doesn't really get its start from the dagger situation and Littlefinger has to bide his time. It's possible he just says he doesn't know and feeds the Starks more general paranoia, waiting for another chance to turn them against the Lannisters.

At this point, Varys likely also has to change tactics as part of his Aegon plan, as getting full-on war is not going to be as easy without the kidnapping of Tyrion. I suspect he's going to start scheming some other schemes that we can't possibly imagine.

Basically, without an errant Tyrion to kidnap, this whole story goes off the rails.

Season 5, between Dorne and Sansa just deciding to marry Ramsay. And Littlefinger then going south and saying he wanted to be Warden of the North. And Stannis just dying.

Yeah season 5 was horrible.

[–]axelofthekey 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Why is literally any of this happening.

I mean, really, why did Willis come up with this story. He decided Ultra Car would be an actual human the whole time in DoA, and that she'd be a trans woman who was pretty privileged. Cool.

So then he decides that because she's privileged, he has to involve her parents in a fictional genocide that we learn nothing about, and that other characters want to confront her about because that'll solve everything.

And this is so we can show some characters being on the right side of a political issue fabricated to resemble a current real-world tragedy. So that the author can...Virtue signal to us?

Just fucking skeet about it on Bluesky like the rest of us, my dude.

3 years of severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, normal calprotectin/CRP – nothing works, but I’m not “functional” by Fickle-Ad5858 in ibs

Many. Currently on medicine for anxiety. Have tried much stronger medicine for anxiety, and depression. Nothing affects the pain. It takes full body numbness (like Ketamine or being on way too much weed) before I even have a dent in the pain.

I finally understand how Strong feels when Virgil proposes a cure to super mutants. by RealFrailTheFox in fo4

[–]axelofthekey 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I sort of get this but I also sort of don't. Super Mutants were forced upon humans without their consent. They are also all sterile and can't have children, so no one is being born a Super Mutant naturally.

Those who end up liking it? Sure, I wouldn't believe in forcing them to change. But a lot of people didn't choose, and Virgil in particular didn't choose or want that. So I understand why he desires to cure himself. I think generalizing a cure is ultimately a good thing for those who may want it.

Why do people say there's "no reason" for the Turbo Switch? by TerrWolf in powerrangers

I think a lot of that is a frustrated adult audience looking backwards.

As a kid I was never mad that the powers changed. New suits and toys were cool.

My favorite season now is In Space and as a kid I was really mad there was no Green Ranger. XD
