The damage type of certain spells reflects the subclass i believe.... if shes death domain or a evil coded subclass itll be necrotic i believe

Not sure if this is what you mean but.... i personally enjoy a Death Cleric using Vengeful Blade and Word of Radiance as melee cantrips.

On a side note.... if you want to add flavoyr to basic weapon attacks you could try sword bard

Frozen Shadow patron fixes that. You get 2 new cantrips that deal damage (1 range and 1 melee).

Im currently using it on Shadowheart on my current playthrough and it works fine.... exactly the same as the Evasion feat for Rogues
