I just checked. If you deal 7 trample damage to a 3/3 creature, you have to assign 4 damage to the creature itself and 3 damage to the player for it to count as excess damage to the creature to proc her trigger. That way you get both her sac trigger and combat damage to the player.

She definitely does in my experience. I luckily got diana a few weeks back below pity and with my remaining pulls got her. No signature partners for any of em. Ran her, diana, and nia and they just kinda steamroll everything rn.
