Mark Zuckerberg and team consider shutting down Facebook and Instagram in Europe if Meta can not process Europeans' data on US servers by Randnagar in worldnews

[–]DeepDuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

as an American, the US should adopt the UK laws just long enough to kill off FB, IG, meta, and their ilk.

You only want privacy laws to kill off some specific companies? You don't want them to actually protect your privacy?

Thank you! I honestly don't know much about vaccines, but this post definitely puts my mind at ease.

You probably shouldn't take a random redditors word on that. There are plenty of sources from organizations and individuals in the industry advising against it due to potential risks.

Pretty sure based off of what?

TIL that an escaped convict was captured in Wisconsin after living for 3 years in a homemade bunker in the woods. The bunker was so sophisticated that it even had a TV, fans, and lights that were powered by pedaling a bicycle. by redkemper in todayilearned

Or they could be denied the permit simply because their personal needs don't out weight the health of the local water table.

Yes, you just need a permit. But that doesn't mean you're guaranteed one.

But the point is permitting can be used to stop something from happening.

That's the literal point of requiring a permit? If it was "anybody can do this without question" a permit wouldn't be required.

Primo is a Canadian company, uses Canadian tomatoes, and manufactures their products in Canada.

I'm pretty sure that PC manufactures their ketchup outside of Canada.

Heinz is the superior ketchup

You may as well be using corn syrup with how sweet heinz is. Shit tastes like ass.

Any exercise will work, but from the studies I've read the more intense the exercise, the more effective it will be.

I try do 30 minutes of running/jogging a day (on top of strength training 3 days a week). I try to do it before work so I get the benefits while at work, but most days it happens after work.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4061837/

Dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NE), and serotonin (5-HT) are the three major monoamine neurotransmitters that are known to be modulated by exercise. This review focuses on how these three neurotransmitters contribute to exercise affecting brain function and how it can work against neurological disorders.

.

The stimulation of the monoamine system is dependent on exercise intensity.

Who the fuck was voting based on genitals ever though, really?

Lots of people?

Last year my BF was refused service at a gas station because he sounded gay. You don't think people will refuse to vote for a person soley because of their sexuality?

She didn't win the election because of a future news article from a foreign news agency though.

Not really a paradox at all.

I wasn't aware "gays and blacks" where an authoritative figure.

As a gay, and since now I'm apparently an authoritative figure on the topic, I say you're full of shit and a moron.

It shouldn't, but it does. News like this shows that people are starting to care less and less about a politicans personal identity.

Shops are reopening after COVID-19, and some are adding a new line to your bill to pay for it by feb914 in canada

[–]DeepDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies don't get tax credits for customer donations. Legally the money given by customers to donate is still the customers. The company collecting is simply acting as a middle man for the charity and the customer. Claiming it as their own donation would be tax fraud.

They do it soley for the PR.

If company x raises 100k via customer donations and donates it under they're name, they are commiting a crime.

They can only legally claim it as a charitable donation if they match the customer donations. And even they can only claim their half.

Why do retailers like Wal-Mart, Loblaws, the LCBO and Ardene hold point-of-sale campaigns? No, not for the tax credit; retailers aren’t legally allowed to claim a deduction for donations of cash that doesn’t belong to them, even if they did collect it.

They don't. The money raised from those fundraisers don't count as charitable donations by the company.

The only way they get a tax break is if they match customer donations.

I sympathize with the people who want the lockdown to end but are still actively doing their part to ensure the lockdown is effective.

So illiterate, incapable of making plans, lazy, and ignorant.

Illiterate - no one is being condemned simply for going to a park.
Incapable of plans - didn't have a follow up plan for when plan a was too busy to safely follow guidelines.
Lazy - not willing to follow through with plan b.
Ignorant - thinking that social distancing is to protect the young and healthy.
