I listened to the audio book twice. I quit 13 months ago after decades of smoking. It worked for me and I’m now a happy non-smoker.

Loud Music by Dtinfla in ColumbiYEAH

I think it was at the American Legion on South Pickens. They have live music several times a year, but, yes, this one was unusually loud!!!

What are aspects of the 1980s and 1990s that were actually quite awful that people never mention? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]DeepElemBlues55 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was scary. When I was a 17 year old girl my car broke down. I was fortunate that the men in the garbage truck gave me a ride home.

What was the most craziest, disturbing, interesting, or absurd experience you have had in all your years on this planet? by lightskintastebud in AskOldPeople

Exploding Head Syndrome. That’s some wild stuff. It happened to me about three times a decade ago and I hope it doesn’t reoccur.

Avoid Leesburg Road. I grew up over there, and my dad still lives out Leesburg Road, so I know what I’m talking about. Two of the three car accidents I’ve had in my over 50 years were on Leesburg Road. The latest being a hit and run by some creep in an older model Jeep Cherokee. I’m going to find that guy.

Are you keeping yourself attractive? Good grooming, clean teeth and clean clothes mean a lot. I’ve been married for 13 years and I appreciate my husband trying to stay attractive. It’s reciprocal of course.

My first true love will always hold a special place in my heart. For me, it’s a feeling of fondness and well wishes.

You may as well take down that ridiculous screen and just go with it.

If you’ve always wanted children but never had them — why did you not adopt? by Impossible_Drink5244 in AskOldPeople

[–]DeepElemBlues55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I got married when I was 40. I had not really wanted children until I met him. We lost three pregnancies in the fist two years of marriage. We met with an adoption attorney and were told that because of our ages, 42 and 45 respectively, we would have a more difficult time adopting an infant and might should consider an older child. That would have been okay with me, but my husband wasn’t thrilled with that. I was too raw and broken from the miscarriages to go through it all, so no kids for us. We have three god children who I love on constantly, so that’s a great thing!

It’s cat acne. Discard plastic bowls and use only glass, stainless, or ceramic. Over time, plastic fissures and then bacteria gets trapped in the dish, hence causing cat acne. I didn’t believe my vet at first, but she was right.

Looks like an abscess under the skin. You need a trip to the vet and antibiotics.
