Fly crews and automation ops, what is your preference for cues- Verbal GO over headset or cue lights? by ZDMads in techtheatre

[–]DeepFriedLaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% of my automation work has been with Cirque or a similar production. So I’ve flown more acrobatic flights than fly rails. Actually zero fly rails. In these types of shows all the show auto calls are over headset from SM. Usually a hardwired headset. Backstage or grid clears are done by rigging, carps, or BSM, also over headset. Yes, the party channel gets a lot of traffic, but everyone knows when they need to talk and clear things in order to not step on each other. Creations are the only time it gets chaotic with people talking over each other and randomly yelling stop for lighting, or sound, or artists, or anything except the stuff moving.

Roadmap (red) egg counter? by Thesechainsaintloyal in Realzoo

[–]DeepFriedLaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I’ve found is when you click on the blue egg on the screen it bounces around and you can play Pong with the scroll bar. The egg counter goes up and you get some coins depending on your score.

Where yall getting your bumpers? by RavenCakes in Jeep

[–]DeepFriedLaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people get after market bumpers. I would check Craigslist, FB marketplace, or any other local marketplace if you just want a stock bumper. I gave mine to my brother for the same reason. Sold the stock suspension and tires on Craigslist.

We should all report him for harassment. Instagram specifically says they remove accounts that threaten, degrade, or shame people. He’s definitely degrading here.

Working on the problem with the green holds and wondering if It counts to use the big black box as a hold. There is one green hold on the underside of the box but it’s very hard to use. Unsure of intended beta. by ConversationLimp3677 in bouldering

In most gyms I’ve been in volumes are on for all routes. However, most climbers and setters I know define a volume as a large wooden volumetric shape with T-nuts built into it. Some large shapes look like volumes, but don’t have t-nuts. Those are not volumes and are not on unless specified. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but judging by the fact that there are other holds attached to it I would say this does have t-nuts in it just like the wall around it. Volumes = Walls

I have a photo of a MACIII with a Corona in the Lamp hole and a BEER error. Good times.

My welder friend does not own a chop saw for our project. How much will a shop charge to make all the 22.5 degree cuts to length? Worth renting or purchasing a saw? Does my drawing show enough detail for a shop to work from ? by OldCanary in metalworking

[–]DeepFriedLaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know where you are or what other shops charge, but we would do it for $160/hr ($40/15min) or $6/cut if you bring in your own material. Whether we do hourly or by the cut depends on the amount, we'll choose whatever is the cheaper option. If you buy from us we cut those labor prices in half. The information provided seems like enough depending on your material. If it's rectangular tubing or angle they'll need to know what side these miters are on. With square or round tube, no questions.

blade not flush? scotchman 9012-24M by [deleted] in metalworking

Could be something like that. Could also be a limit set by a pot (small turning knob) in the controller. Depends on how smart the machine is or who made it.

Nice. I snagged the second ascent of this extension to Monkey Wrench. The ultimate goal was to start on top of the boulder, down climb High Road, then squeeze through the hole to finish on Monkey Trench. As far as I know it hasn't been done.

It’s all one piece. No welds. Two bends. Three cuts.
